I'm new here, but I've also got a bit of an issue. I installed the longtubes on the car over spring break and the car ran just fine. The only issue I had was that my fuel mileage was pretty dissapointing. As of Monday the car had about 400 miles on it since the install and was throwing codes for the O2 sensors. I thought that it was the ceramic coating burning off and ruining the sensors which seems to be a real common issue. Anyway, over 2 days I put about 400 miles on the car and it began to act a bit weird. At some stops the rpms would jump around very slightly, but then it would go back to normal for some time. The next day when I took it to pick up the new O2s it started misfiring all the time and lost a lot of power. A quick scan showed the car was throwing a code for a multiple cylinder misfire. I looked under the hood and noticed the MAF had been installed backwards by someone. I fixed that and cleaned up the intake but it still ran like crap. Today I just put in the new O2s as well as a fuel filter with no change. I would change the spark plugs but I don't have the tools I need to do that with me. I would like to avoid taking the car to a shop if I can although it's not looking like I have a choice with my limited resources.
