I estimated my weight at 3800 and it said I have 267, put that weight and hp number in the ET calculator and it said 14.1 at about 96 which sounds right.

It put me at 296. Sounds great. But my et should be 13.6 the best I have I done it 14.1. Does this mean with traction I should do 13.6?

woah my trap speed with a gtech was 104 i'm guessing to that the car weighs around 3800lbs that puts me at 333rwhp holy cow. it also puts me in the low 13's which is fairly close to the g tech numbers.....cool stuff

so i re-entered the formula with a 5 mph decrease in trap speed resulted in 296 at rear wheels.......i gotta do a dyno run now

I think it's off
I input my Weight at 3650 and my best MPH 107 and it came up with 348HP
Some how I don't think it's right.
There is a HP calculator at
smokemup.com in the Auto math section and I was no where near 348HP.
My FWHP was 365 and RWHP was 302.
By the way guys you need to input weight with driver.
But if it is corect Woo Hoo

If you add more weight the hp will go up.

I have weighed my car on a truck scales before and have a current dyno sheet. Based on weight and speed this was only off on the rwhp by 6 hp on the low side.

Without me in it and half a tank it weighs 3540. In comparison the formula weighs 3750.

guys, what is up with a 3700 lb Formula? Mine only weighs 3,370lbs then add me 3,540 lbs. I have a truck scale right acrros the street from my house behind a factory and I have weighed it several times.

The weight difference is probably cause his Formula is a 3rd gen and yours is a 4th gen Doug.

Sorry, I didn't check this post in a long time. It is within 10HP of my dyno RWHP.
It is a good calculator because it is a mathmatical formula that uses weight, and speed to figure power it will always be pretty accurate.
The calculators you cannot put alot of stock in are the ones that are also a mathmatical calculator and use HP, and weight to give you an ET. as we all know that there are alot of other factors going on besides weight and HP. such as how that weight gets transfered, traction at launch. actual car set up. you can have 2 cars that weigh tthe same but with different set ups run different times. I see it all the time.
Someone has a car that weighs X amount and gets no traction and another does the car that gets the tractions wins. even with weight and HP being equal.
I bring this up because a while ago we had someone on here that swore that he could tell you what your car would run just by that calculator. it can be used as a ball park but that is it.
Like I said this calculator should always be pretty much on because it only uses weight and time, and thus you get a power. No variables...

within 10 to the plus or to the minus can i please have total power as i am thinking of heads and cam swap and want to get guestimates as to how much power i could get

Well, I have a lot done to the engine/car besides heads and cam, but I put down over 370RWHP.
