Full Version: Group buy thoughts?
The Formula Forums > Buy & Sell > Group Purchases

Well, as with other vehicle's I've owned, I try and get the best bargain for the best quality on everything, and a good way to go about this is the group bulk buys. Since this board is setup for such a cause with a specific forum encompassing this, I wondered...

I have several contacts with vendors and shops that might be able to supply product lines at discounted prices for group bulk buys depending on the need/demand. What I am wanting to know, is what kind of gear are the Formula owners, such as myself, are looking to obtain? My personal interests or budget may not match everyone else's, so post up and let me know your thoughts; I will take these interests to the sources and see what kind of prices I can haggle.

Sometimes it is a hit and miss, and sometimes it's the nail on the head. Look forward to the input!

I see.. so because I am newer to this community, that obviously somehow relates to me being inapplicable or too incompetent to try and gain good deals for other owner's that share the same interests as myself? Is that condescending attitude the general demeanor shared by the majority of the member's of this board?

I will look into this and see what kind of pricing I can find. I'll post whatever results I come across.

Actually that "attitude" isn't the majority of the members.

Moving to the Group Purchase forum.

There is a fine line between humour and rudeness in text, with phrasing setting the tone; perception is everything on the Internet, and if I've perceived your comments incorrectly from the original way there were intended, then I apologize.

Back to the topic at hand... Does anyone have a need for Long Tubes(Mac, Hooker, etc..)? I am looking to pick up a set of ceramic coated or jet hot coated LTs myself in the next couple of months.

To answer your question NO and Mx wasn't being "condescending" he was joking. The general attitude in OD is lightheartedness and friendliness and we ALL try to help each other when the occasion arises. (sorry so sappy, guys) Had you sorted through more of our posts, you would have realized that instead of jumping to conclusions. Sorry you felt that way but it wasn't intended as hurtful.
Welcome to TFS.
Now, if we can start over, and all play nice (please) lets get back to the topic.

As for myself, the only purchase I'm looking to make soon is shocks and struts, and possibly wheels and tires.

i dont need anything now, but when i do i usually just go through nick anyway, he's pretty good with gettin his prices close to what a gp would be anyway.

Perhaps an ORY, hi-flow cats, LT4 conversion parts, LCAs (or other suspension goodies), subframe connectors...ummm...that's starting to look like my Christmas list....any of those might be good for me!

Before this gets out of hand.... we simply cannot be beat on our Spohn F-Body suspension components... LCA's, LCA ReLo brackets, Tq. Arms, PHR bars, Strut-tower braces, SFC's, the works...

I am NOT advertising... If you want to get them somewhere else, by all means, do so.... BUT I don't want to see anyone spinning their wheels trying to hunt down GP pricing on this stuff whenever you don't have to look any further than members here on the board for the "hook-up" when you can get INDIVIDUAL pricing on an individual basis... i.e, not waiting around untill 5 or 10 ppl decide they want LCA's!?!

Also, you are not going to get much (if any) of a break on genuine GM LT4 parts anywhere unless you have like 15+ ppl interested... and thats only if you go begging Scroggin-Dickie Performance or some other authorized GMPP dealer.... it is GM for God's sake...

Only thing left on my current list that I want to get is some BMR subframe connectors. I'm looking at BMR because they seem to fit my needs and for a good price compared to other companies, but as of right now I'm out of money thanks to some problems so any purchase I make will have to wait a couple months.
Or planning for the future, maybe some MT drag radials.

I've got a potential lead on a possible group buy for BMR subframe connectors. Talked to another vendor buddy of mine yesterday that recently became a dealer for them in the local area. Once/if I have details soon I will post them up.
