Birdman

Well I finally took my car to track for the first time. I think I did pretty good considering i have 99K miles on her. I dropped my rear tire preasure to 20psi and my best run was with the transmission in 3 and the trans perform button down. Here's the time slip:
R/T: .759 (yeah it sucks, i'll have to practice)
60': 2.248 ( i spun a bit at the start but then hooked up good)
1/4: 14.418
MPH: 95.94
Any advice for getting my times down? Should i drop my tire preasure more?

Thats about right for a stock,or near stock, car. If you can improve your 60' times you will see a much better 1/4 time. Every tenth cut from the 60' takes 2 off the other end. Practice.

You are going to have to work on that R/T Birdman. I usually punch it on the last yellow light. But don't tell anyone my secret.

And air your tires down to 20. It will help.

Don't you get all sorts of wheel spin by just punching it at launch? Man if I just mai l it I wll spin all the way through 2nd into 3rd lol.
What do you run for gears?
I remember when my car was stock it hooked up with very little wheel sping I had 3.23's (factory) and no mods but a K&N, and a cat back.

How does it chirp and then burn through 3/4 of second gear. if it just chirped 2nd it wouldn't keep spinning? I am confused. Maybe just the way it is worded or I am reading into it but to me if a car chirps 2nd it does just that chirps the tires a bit and hooks up, so your car would spin all through 1st, then chirp into 2nd then start spinning almost all the way through 2nd again?

sorry i wrote i real fast it spins all of first off the line then chirps into second. when downshiftin into 2nd it spun 3\4s of 2nd. yea the other way i wrote it kinda isnt possible unless i have a crazy torque curve

I thought maybe it was just the way I read it. I thought I knew what you meant.
