well, I am seeing more and more 05 GT's running around and a ton of 6 Cylinder stabgs. I think the later look like rental cars and the GT's are ok but not as good as they looked im the mags before they came out.

Anyway I was at a cook out this past saturday and a kid had an 05 GT wil 5K on it. The owner of the house I was at tells him about my car and he comes up t me and says oh I hear you have an old LT1!

I go yeah it is old but the engine trany rear end suspension and everyting else ony have 25K on them.

He says man I bet you wish you had an LS1. I say you know LS1's are awesome but my LT1 isn;t your everyday motor.

He says he dusts LS1's all the time.

This is when I outright laugh. i lok at him and go listen, have you had many muscle cars? He asys this is his first.

I say yuo know what yu need to come back down to earth and realize what is what ans tell him an LS1 will beat him all day.

He says I coubt it but you dont have an LS1.

I lok at him ( as I am running out of patience) and say " you know what man? I passed racing ANY Mustang (except an all out drag car a long time ago. I worry about Porsches and Vipers now".

He goes yeah ok... what are you thinking. you have raced Vipers? I say yeah and I have won and lost but I win alot.

Anyway. We end up goign out in the cars to a deserted access road that is about 1/2 mile long and straught as can be. We went 5 times and I beat him by at least 3 car lengths everytime, most likely more.

He was pissed! I said man your 32K 05 Stang jst got neat by a 12 year old F-body.

I say you wknow what? you need to learn what is what and neot think you can beat care just becaue you have a new car. I say a 1996 WS6 had more HP than your car!

anyway he was cool and I drove his car and let him drive mine. he almost peed himself at how my car launches and I was actually surprised because the stang for a stonck car was fun. But new sheet metal or not I would take an 02 WS6 or even my car over them anyday.

This is 2005 and cars are supposed to look like the future (like they started in 1993) not like a 30 year old car!

Most road tests I have seen put them in the high 13's which aint bad really.I like the way they look but gimme a V8 Firebird anyday.

id think ud get him by more than that but atleast u made him learn i hate kids like that

Nice, I raced a kid w/ a new 05 V6 mustang and raped it repeteadly. Its a great feeling when someone spends like 30+ grand for a car and it gets beat by one that costs 5 grand, has 100k miles and is 12 years old.

I only beat him by like 3 cars because I was only racing enough to beat him. I know the area and cops are around.

Once I took the 3 car lengths (pretty much right away) I just got out of it! and let him try to catch me.

I love playing. I could have let off totaly and let him gain and them pulled away again.

If I went all out on this road (sort of pot holed a bit)

I could have either broken something or beat him by like a half an hour lol.

It was fun. I told him we will go to the spot where all the locals race at night (Medfield flats) and I will run my ET streets and I told him he will lose by a ton.

Good stuff! I still find it funny how Ford enthusiasts keep thinking that those 4.6L V8s can hold a candle to LS1/LT1s...comedy.

That's what I've been yelling too !!! Glad to hear I'm not the only one who sees it this way Even the 3rd gens. look slick, and according to the guys who go over 200mph they are better because they have a lower drag coefficient(in particular Firebirds with their closed headlamps) than even the 93-02 car, manily because the 3rd gen. front end accepts a better air damn. I think "retro" stinks

I've got a kill on a 05 'stang too, but the funny thing was the V6 with a ground scraping kit that come revving at me . I just let him pass and laughed

We raced today on a great new road and I beat him like he was standing still.

I let him drive my car I drove his like it was mine and he smoked me in my own car!

He really likes F-bodies now and complimented me so much. It was funny watching my own car run away from me in a stang.

Man my car is loud I never really hear it cause I am in it but it is totaly loud.

It was alot of fun.

I am racing a Viper next week on the same road. it is my buddies car and all stock. I kow I am gonna beat him. I think I wil run my ET streets to be close to a 11 second pass.

His viper is stock but awesome.

Oh you all know who Doug Flutie is Right? He is a very good friend of my wifes cousin and lives near me (when he isn't playing)

He drove my car about 2 weels ago and he has a siler viper also.

I golfed with him and Darren Flutie last week. They are great friends wilth my wifes cousin Dean Hladdick.

Doug loved my car. He wants to buy a late model LS1 now. I told m him to get a WS6 late modeal and I would help him mod it so it is pretty much unbeatable.

I am totaly serious My wife was the capt of the cheerleaders in Natick and grew up knowing the Fluties. They are both very cool.

LOL, I tell you what I will have Doug come on here if I can get him to! My wife grew up in Natik Mass (her aunt is the town clerk) Her cousings the Hyladicks run the water dept.

Her cousin Dean knows Darren and Doug very very well they grew up together.

Not too much of a big deal not like knowing Michael Jordan or something. Doug Flutie isn't a big deal. See him all the time.

I am not mad at all. Doug is nothing my wifes cousin dean also knows Jon Bon Jovi although I have never been able to meet him.

Too bad we live so far apart Doug I think lining both of our Formulas up and going at it would be spectacular. The sound from to heavily built LT1s raping the pavement would just be aweinspiring. I would defienitely open my cutouts for that one, well maybe not the cops could hear my Bird a mile or two away.

I would love to see you guys race. Yes and my Formy got beat by a few modded LT-1s, so the LS-1 is not invincible.
