I am going to be doing window motors soon, so Whiile I am in there I want to do the speakers. My car only has the 4 speaker setup. W/ my new head unit they sound like ###### hardly any bass at all. White size speakers will fit in the doors, and will replacing them require lots of modification or is it a simple 2 wire swamp? Any suggestions on brands? I dont want anything too expensive, not more then 100 bucks for 2.

They are 6 1/2" coaxials in the doors. You still wont have alot of bass when you change them.

Does everyone who has changed from the factory headunit to and aftermarket one, had the probems where there was no bass afterwards ?

I got a new sony exploid headunit and 61/2" dual 140watt speakers for my doors and installed them when I did my window motors. It sounds SOOO much better then stock, the bass is definetly apparent. I am thinking about replacing my two rear ones as well soon.

the rear speakers is where you are going to gain the most bass response. You may however due to the speakers being mounted in a hollow area want to use some type of sound deadener to get the bas to stay IN the car and not travel throughout the body. Use a 3 way coaxial and when looking at different options look for one with the lowest frequency in the range. Most are like 38 to 30K HZ. Look for something 30-30k or 28-30k.
