if a supercharged 4.6l cant beat a car that's TEN YEARS older than it... Ford has some serious problems. are you sure it was an 03? you can tell by the little "lip" of a spoiler. The 99-2000 Cobras had the Wing the was a lil swept back, like all the rest of them for those years.

Stupid Blue Ovals....it tickles me that they think that their 4.6 litre engines can stand up to 5.7Litres of pushrod power!!! I mean, I'll admit that the DOHC system is a bit more refined, but you just don't get the power at lower RPMs. Nice kill.

yes it was supercharged they only run low 13's stock to mid 13's an di am in the 13.1 bracket spinning go on the street the tires hook up better.

I've got a friend with a 04 that put out over 600 to the rear wheels. I've seen the dynosheets. He only runs 12.1. If he tries to launch it hard it will break an axle everytime. He has put 3 in it this year. Good kill.

Why build a whole car when you can build just the engine?

DO NOT UNDER ESTIMATE THESE CARS! they will run mid 12s stock and can dyno over 370rwhp stock in some case a little more. if the driver is not up to par then they are not very leathal just like ever other car. with exhaust pully mods they will put down 450rwhp. these cars are not to be disrespected. they will hand u ure butt if ure up aginst a well drivn one and ur mod list isnt log enough. full bolt on ls1s will beat a stock one.

I hear ya man; all the more motivation to make your mod list REALLY long... , i dont have all the bolt-ons yet for my LS1, but they're coming... What would constitue FULL bolt-ons?

caldramaguy you would prolly take one the way your car is my car does not come out of the hole fast at all to give you an example i will run door handle to door handle and edge out a new vette when they shift its that even but from a stand still they smoke me i either bog the motor or blow the tires out from underneath it. and a mid 12 stock? i have never seen one go that fast low 13's is about it with a pulley and intake they will go mid 12's.

He put some moser axles in it this time. Can't wait to see it at the track again.

u skip full bolt ons and went for the cam. full bolt ons is full intake an exhaust, pully any mod that kinda simply put just bolts on, in my opinion anyway.

03-04 Cobras are a lil bit heavier than fbodys but put down usually 40-50 stock rwhp. ls1 can as fast in one case go 12.7, 12.9 more commonly low 13s all stock . so cobras sare runnin 12.5 to low 13s stock.

Ya know its kinda funny... After i drove my Mustang GT onto a hill in march (Saturn drivers around my area SUCK... ) I looked at Cobras as a possibilities. I was supposed to take a 98 Cobra for a spin the same day i test-drove the Trans Am... needless to say i didnt ever drive the Cobra !! Anyone else notice how the Cobra posts on any website seem to be the longest?? not a bad thing i think; we need a true competitor that GM doesnt make!! What would the world come to if us Birds could only race Camaros?

Are you serious about them being heavier? I know my friends 03 GT is alitte over 300 bs lighter than my 94 formula.

I love all cars, but get your facts straight my Cobra ran a 12.9 bone stock. This was in Albuquerque 5400ft. Now I'm not calling BS there are a lot of drivers that cant put the Cobras power to the ground. Agian good kill! Mine will now run a 12.4 (See mods in sig) This will put me in the high 11's at lower alt.. I know of quite a few F-body's in my area that will hand me my but, so don't take my post as being cocky.

i am in no way saying that they are slow cars but around me i have never seen one go mid 12's stock and i am about 700 feet above sea level i think maybe a little more. i have seen a couple with pullies and slicks go low 12's but i don't know just waht i have seen and i was surprised and extreemy impressed to beat him and so was he. i am suppost to meet him at our local spot this friday night we are gonna go again so we'll see what happens.

I just looked it up. The cobra is 490 lbs heavier then the GT. For 130 hp. I know the supercharger doesn't way that much.

naw, that's probably the S/C, beefy brakes, suspension componants, etc. I think the tranny weighs more too.

The independant rear suspension add's a lot of weight also. the way bigger heads (4 cams)

All the 03 Mustangs have IRS don't they?

Just the Cobras, but they are only good till 600hp. Then a lot of guys are switching to the GT rearends. At high hp the half shafts tend to break.

my cousins o3 cobra put 550 to the ground with just a cat back pulleys and cai. ive seen the dyno it will hand me my butt any day. any other mustangs i just toy with but those o3 and o4 cobras can be a female dog to handle

So he got 200 hp with a CAI cat back and pulleys. It must be a factory freak, or he has mods he's not telling you about. I have a lot more work in mine than that (see sig), and mined puts about 470whp.
