On a lazy Sunday afternoon I approached a red light with a Mustang GT (fairly new, 01 maybe) sitting in the right lane. It had all sorts of weird body cladding, different wheels, and a slightly louder exhuast. I didn't really think a thing of it, but when the light turned green, I heard him punch it. I mashed on my throttle and immediately pulled about half a car length on him. His shift to 2nd dropped him farther behind me. He never started to pull on me even when we exceeded 100 mph. I slowed to get off onto another street and he flew by as mad as ever. No acknowlegement of a fine race. What surprised me is that my Formula is 6-7 years older than his car, has an automatic, and 2.73 gears to boot. Those Mustangs really are slow.

excellent. What's great is that you didn't even know that he was going to race you! I wonder if the stang was a Roush... those have that weird cladding and that under-body spoiler kit. Saleen also has a strange body kit that you can buy installed at a dealer (like the Firehawks used to come). Either way, nice win! I always take satisfaction when slow blue ovals drive away mad. Another think I like to do is, when I get into a race on the freeway, I'll make one..maybe two runs and after I win and have proved F-body superiority once again, I slow down to a safe speed like 75 and refuse to race anymore That really pisses 'em off. Works especially well on ricers.

good kill. it coulda been the saleen with just the body kit or just a mustang witha kit on it
