okay basically i had a kenwood stereo in my 1991 firebird. It got hit by another car and totalled and so i just recently bought a 95 firebird formula. I tried to install the kenwood stereo and everything seems to work just fine except for when i go to open the door a buzzing noise comes on from somewhere in the dash/radio area. If i go to close the door the noise does not stop. The only way to stop it is to turn the ignition half way so the power in the car comes on, then the buzzing stops. I was wondering if this has to do with an alarm system...i noticed there is a blue wire that is connected to the original stereo and my kenwood does not have it. I was thinking maybe i have to cut it or something, i'm not sure. If anybody might know how to help i would really appreciate it. I'm sorry i know it sounds a bit difficult to understand. Thanks a bunch!

I'm dont know how you did the install but I always use an aftermarket harness. You can do all the connections on the bench and then just plug it into the original radio plug. Maybe this will do away with your noise.

yeah i have an aftermarket harness and i just plugged it into the adapter the original stereo plugged into. The noise still stays. I did notice that there is a blue wire on the top for the original stereo that my new stereo does not have. I'm not sure what it's even for.

Maybe you have the volume too loud and the buzzing is just in your head. Just a thought.

Does the power antenna go up/down? If I remember correctly the blue is for that.

HAHA no it's not in my head...it does it when the stereo is off and i open the door. Yeah the antenna does go up and down. I'll just have to go over the wiring again. Thanks everybody!

i discovered the problem. THere was just a lose wiring connection from the old car...i just had to retape the wires together and the problem went away. Thanks a lot for all of your suggestions!!!!!
