Yeah my friend has an 02 VW Jetta turbo and he keeps saying how he is pretty sure his car can put up a good race against my formula. What do you think? Off the line, who would win?

Jetta's are, well... Jettas. Here's a link from AutoTrader.com that compares the two cars... the turbo only puts out 180hp, 174lbs/tq. The Jetta weighs 300 lbs less than you, and gets from 0-60 in about 7.2 seconds.

ok yea if hes tock ull destroy him if its just a 1.8t but if hes modded ofcourse its a new story dependin on the mods find out a little more and we can asses it better.

If it's a stock 4 cyl. turbo look for around a 16 flat e.t from him. The turbo V6 Jetta's are pretty quick though. Stock for stock you should beat either.

He's got the 4 cyl turbo...not the 6. However he tells me he has added some slight modifications to the car, he "claims" it puts out around 230 horses...but i dunno if he's just saying that to make me feel threatened HAHA! I dunno, it's Front wheel drive, small engine (only 1.8 liters compared to my 5.7 ) I think i should take him no problem

na, you won't have much trouble. It's those VR6s you have to watch out for. When I was in my V6 way back in the day, I would get trounced by VR6s all the time. Happily, when I got my first V8, my very first street race was against a VR6, and boy did it feel good to leave that sucker staring at my tail lights
