what would win out of a 04 roush mustang 5.0 against a firebird formula 5.7 liter ls1
KRockLS1
04 5.0? Is that a drop in engine, or did they offer a 5.0 in 04? Unless it's some super engine, I'd say the LS1 would take, especially if it's 01 or 02.

what is faster, a 94 5.0 GT mustang or a 03 5.0 Mustang GT

what would win, a 94 5.0L mustang GT or a 4.6L 03 mustang GT

They were both slow

Check this out "Steeda advertised 400-hp, but Motor Trend tested theirs at 425-rwhp, and the car ran 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, and the quarter-mile in 12.7 seconds at 111.7 mph." seems kind of slow for 425hp

I wonder how many HP it would take to go 12.9 at 109mph?
didnt someone have a calculator for that?

I can tell you i have 350 to the wheels and i am running 13.1 @107 on street tires and my car is not up to where it should be. 425rwhp should put you in the low 12's easily.

how much of a weight difference in the LT1 birds vs LS1 birds??? are they the same weight with a different motor pretty much? I know the LS1 is lighter, but the body grew a little, didnt it??? I pretty much assume the only Mustnags that stand a chance are 03-04 SC Cobras, and the top-end Saleens...

The 400HP Roush ( in the link by Dan 95)would probably beat an LS1. The 400HP LS2 GTO's are running better tikmes stock than the stock LS1's

Don't likk me but that is a pretty nice Stang! I mean for 26K on top of the price of the Gt it should be 50K area) you could easliy build an LT1, LS1 or any other small block to beat it for 26K over the proce of your car.

Sounds like the Roush must have been traction limited to do that slow in the 1/4 with 425 rwhp.

I'm not sure what my Formie is puttin down but spinning though 1st and second on 18" worn Kumhos I just ran a 12.91 with my bird.
Thats with headers, exhaust, and gears. With tires I'd beat that stang rolleyes.gif but then he'd want tires too laugh.gif

Around here my LS1 is very mild. Most that run at the track are not. We are home to Thunder Racing and Futralmotorsports it's no wonder. I dont remember seeing any that wern't at least equiped with bolt on's at out track. Now there are some stockers around but most of those belong to people who wouldnt even think of mashing the throttle hard enough to spin the tires.

Come to think of it I saw a clean 2000 + or - a year Formie with T Tops A4 for sale at a car lot near here. Dark Blue & factory stock looking. OEM wheels too. Anyone want the dealers phone number?

perhaps another reason that the Roush seems so slow for 425hp is its weight? If it's like the SC Cobras, its got some bamph, but its so heavy that the HP doesnt make it rediculously fast. I was talking to a Cobra guy i know, and his 400hp Cobra Vert. is almost 4000 lbs!
