Hey everyone,
I have a 96 Formula Firebird and I was just wondering if anyone could give me some good info on the best way to get a great start off the line with an automatic. I've heard of brake torqueing, I just need to know a little more about it before I go out and try it, like around what RPM is good to let go of the brake and floor it. If someone could give me some more info it would be alot of help and if anyone has any other methods let us hear it. I wanna take the bird out to the track and let her loose, but I'll be a first timer at the track so anything helps. Thanks in advance to anyone to replies.

in my experience, it's always best to do a nice burnout first to get the tires nice and sticky. Then just floor it. You can always work up some RPMs so that you are closer to your peak areas sooner, but techniques like that seem to me to be more trouble than they are worth and end up damaging the brakes in the long run.

just hold down the brake pedal and reev the car to about 1500 rpms or 2k at max whatever you can go to without spinning the tires and when the light hits green drop the brakes and stomp the gas.

Thanks for the advice guys anything helps, can't wait to go try all of it out, but for now the roads and parking lots are wet from the rain and that means fun in the formula. java script:add_smilie("")
