I've always wanted an extra trip odometer, scan tool, and fuel economy gauge for my bird, and I almost bought the scan gauge I, but thought it was a little too big and bulky. Well, they recently came out with the Scan Gauge II, and have much improved the styling and size, so I decided to pick one up.
Does anyone have or has any one used one of these? I know the refresh is like every second or so, but can anyone speak to it's utility? I can't wait to get it, but want to know if there are any quirks.
The website is:

My 2006 GMC has one built in with the exception of the code reader.
It is called a DIC (Driver Information Center)
Has MPG, Range, Engine Hours, Total miles, two trip meters, oil life and some other stuff I forget right now
One might be good in the bird - where are you going to mount it?
Are you going to share pics of the install?

I'm very familiar with the DIC. My Yukon Denali has one, and my Brother's GTO has one of sorts also (even shows GPM when at idle!

)
I can certainly take some pics of the install, but there probably won't be a whole lot to show. I'm planning to run the wire around the side of the dash and under the steering column to the diag plug. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Definatly a great gauge to have.
I will be mounting mine on the center console, close to the radio bracket past the shifter since it would not match any of the other gauges that I have.

I would mount mine there too, but it would cover my trac. control switch...

I agree. The track control should be on the gear shift (for auto) or the center counsel. Even the camaro had the sense to mount it higher

OK the gauge is IN and man, is it NICE. It matches the dash colors perfectly, and works like a charm!! Unfortunately, I had to mount it on the dash (No where else!), so I'll either be putting a white towel over it or removing it when not in use in hot months. So far so good. I have it displaying active MPG, GPM, IAT, and engine Load (% of total power under RPM). I figured it was pointless to have it display voltage, or water temp when i already had good gauges for all that.

Snap a picture of where you mounted it.

OK. Here's what I was able to take before my camera's battery died. The first pic is the mounted unit. (again, if anyone has a better idea where to place the gauge that doesn't block other dash functions, let me know). The second pic is how I ran the wire. Surpisingly, I didn't have to use ANY tape, because I found an opening below the dash that I was able to stuff the extra cable in, which held it in place.

I've never seen that gauge before. Can you post up a link to it please?
I originally thought you were talking about the Aeroforce guage.

Ya.. I didn't know about the aeroforce gague. Looks like a very nice gauge, but its a little pricey, and has to be mounted in a dash-cut hole (i wonder if it would fit in an Firebird A/C vent...) Either way, the scangauge is a bit cheaper ($169 with tax and shipping) and displays 4 gauges at once, instead of 2. It's really a nice product. I LOVE how the indiglo matches the rest of the dash.

cool, I wonder if you could mount something like that in the center console with the screen facing up, or if you are really adventuresome maybe recess it a little and make it so it kind of fits in where you have it now, kinda like the HUD on vettes if you know what I'm saying. Would give it a nice "meant to be there" look.
