Well last night i had my first REAL race with my new T/A. I was on my way home from a night class at my college, when what i first thought was a supra came up behind me and changed into the right lane next to me. Then he pulled up next to me and i looked over and saw it was an M3 convertible. It was a younger guy who was driving it and he kept the same speed as me down the road. Now the road we were going down is well known to have cops all over it, so i was hesitant to race. We had 3 red lights where we could have raced at, but we were both waiting for the other to make the move, haha! Anyways, a little further down the road, we were starting to catch up to traffic and the M3 just punched it and got to my front fender when my auto downshifted and started pulling on him pretty hard till my rear bumper was at his nose. We quickly came up on the cars in front of us and he pulled behind me again. I am a nice sport and always give a thumbs up after a race, so that's what i did. After we got through the traffic he pulled next to me again and waved back with a smile and then drove off infront of me. It was really exciting cause that was the first time i really punched the new car. It REALLY has so much more power than my old 95 LT1.

I went home and did some research on the M3 (cause i thought he would have beat me, especially with the jump he had on me) but i saw that the convertibles only run a 13.9 in the quarter. BMW did a great job squeezing 333hp out of a 6 cyl!

oh and for those of you wondering about my first sentence, i raced a couple of kids in a dubbed out Chevy S10 and blew their doors off....so that didnt count Haha!! (hey they wanted a piece of me so i gave em one!)

Beautiful win. I've ran with a few M3s before, and always have been able to come out on top as well smile.gif

I've driven several BMWs. They are nice cars, to be sure. Rated very highly, enjoyable to drive. A little overpriced, IMO, and plainly styled, both inside and out.

Street racing is illegal...
I've been known to break the law once in a while.

Yeah BMW's are very nice cars! My parents have a 2004 325ci Convertible, and it is such a blast to drive! Very nice interior and i like all the features. But when it comes to speed....they just dont have quite what it takes  That is, unless, an M5 or M6 pulls up to you at a light blink.gif
