First off I have no clue why I titled this thread "The Firebird Blues", I'm officialy sleep deprived, and am running on reserve energy coffee.gif.

I have a bit of a delemia/rant that'd I would like to share.. EVERYONE WANTS TO RACE ME! I don't street race, not on public roads anyway. I've been callenged at least ten times in the past few days! First five mistook me for a v6 F.bird, and they thought they could take me in their hondas, I kindly declined and told them they were a waste of fuel. The next one is an unofficial "race team/group" that consists of a v6 camaro, tiburon, a honda or two, and a sport bike... These people are annoying, always tuanting me at the stop light from school, or in the hallway screaming "fire birds suck", or just eyeing me as I park in my space behind the school. I can't remember what they call them selves, if they even are a team... Someone told me they were. And last but not least a guy wants to have a serious race with me.. He's packing a civic ex with intake, exhaust, and a Vtec controller?.. dry.gif

The real question is... How do you guys handle the annoying challenges? do you accept or decline? I may settle things with the team, but it's against my morals to street race, or at least that's what they think. burnout.gif

I commend you for not giving in.
Picking your battles is a good thing but some people do need to be put in their place.
Ultimatly it's your Decision.

If you do decide to Race them Follow the Street Racing Hints at the top of this page.
Good Luck

Although it is hard to resist, sometime you need to put them in their place. Nothing too hard, just a good launch and idle down the road, for some that will pass them a clue, others need to see you run away from them until they can not fly-by after you slow. Just up to you how you handle it. Many here believed firebirds are slow because nobody would race. Now they tend to leave me alone.

Sometimes a good ole burn out will scare them off burnout.gif

So there aren't any drag strips near where you live? huh2.gif
Tell them to meet you at the track for a grudge match!

Sometimes ya just gotta let em know who's boss. I never street race but a couple weeks ago there was a tard in a primer civic with blue smoke coming out of the fart can that kept trying to take off fast in front of me from lights. I ended up next to him and sure enough he tried...so i just kept right next to him up to ~30 then punched it up to ~50...it was bad. Funny though, last week I went to grab some lunch and went over to the home depot parking lot next to hardees to eat and guess who I saw there doing the same thing biggrin.gif I parked right in front of him.
Also had some old guy in a '80's s10 with straight pipe try me last week. I swear ever pos on the road wants to race me in my z28...and oddly enough they don't mess with the formula dry.gif

Trust me, The track is where it belongs, I know that for a fact! The morroso strip is about 30min from my house, I'm too young to race, six more months!

I've yet to have a real race, for instance today on my way from the mall, I was tooling around with a guy in a accord, fart can and K&N stickers galore.. I didn't try him though. I just pulled on to a road and he was neck and neck with me, I was just crusin, not even paying attention. He revved and down shifted. I noticed, so I down shifted to 2nd from D. Some how though he made his way behind me a tailed me until the traffic cleared. I slowed down to 30, then he pulled out and floored it, as soon as I saw the car buck, I punched it. Needless to say I was quite a few car lengths ahead, and I slowed down. And then bam! Ricer Flyby, with his passanger giving me thumbs up sign yelling something incoherently as they flew by me.

A few clashes/flybys later, I met up with him at the stop light and he gave me a thumbs up and revved his engine, and we went our seperate ways. I never really was speeding though the fastest I went was ten over.. tongue.gif I don't consider it a real race though... Just fun with ricers.

ya... it's kind of like stepping on ants... or arm wrestling with your friends sister or something. Could be fun, but no challenge in it.

Hey Easy just cause you were only 10 over the speed limit doesn't mean it wasn't a Race
Any speed contest is a race at least that is what the cops will tell you.
SassySue09
Yup the speed you're going isn't what makes it a race. Around me you can be charged with "drag racing" by the cops even if neither of the cars goes over the speed limit, just depends on if the cop thinks you're racing or not.

Yea it is considered a race.. I don't know why it didn't consider it one..

I'm honestly am just waiting for my birthday so I can take it to morroso, because street racing is bad! it should've been taken to the track!
