Full Version: Rough Idle

I have a 94 formula with 137,000 miles on it. On idle the car has a skip or rough idle from 600rpm's to about 1500rpm's after that car pulls real strong. At highway speed no noticable problem. Changed optispark unit but no change. I am not getting any codes either. Thought it may be a fuel injector but really would like to know so I'm not replacing exspencive parts for no reason. Any help would be great. Thanks

It kinda sounds like a bad plug wire. Although It is sooo hard to diagnos anything over the computer. If you have a multimeter use it to check resistance on your plug wires.

Do you know what the ohms should be?

I dont, but they should be the same ohm's all the way across. same on each wire, with very little variance. They should have little resistance, but not 0

Thanks for the info.

I had a similar problem in my 96 Formy.

Now, I'm just throwing this out there however there was a problem with the computer that made the injectors on 4 cylinders go out on idle (no power), then when the gas is pressed they would recieve power and work again.

Not sure if it's even related but some extra info never hurts smile.gif

Good Luck.
