Nice times Charm especially being bone stock and on street tires and spinning. Sounds like it's time for you to get some DRs.

I only have a 1/4 mile track so the 1/8th numbers just mystify me smile.gif

must be some sort of fraction thing laugh.gif
SassySue09
Yea it's a fraction things Formyla. You gotta times those 1/8th times by 1.55 to get roughly what he'd be running in a 1/4. wink.gif

The best is 8.79 in a stock LT1 car, I think that is pure awesome. So judging by that with good traction your stock LT would outrun my very light modded LS1. That sounds all too familiar - what's up with that banghead.gif ?!?!?!?
SassySue09
It isn't you BBJ. Your car can't help it if it likes to look at the rear end of the LT1 cars. redlol.gif
Blackbird Jon
Ohhhh, that's sort of a low blow there sassy ninja.gif , but that's all right, I can roll with it burnout.gif

My car doesn't like it, so it must be the driver. After all the car only does what the driver tells it to wink.gif .
For all you who don't know my car has run a best of 8.61 in the 1/8th, it made a dyno verified 291hp/327tq at the wheels before a peppy LS1 edit and fresh plugs, weighs all it can(3,600 without 170 of me), has lost as many if not more races than it has won against ranges of competition, but, and this may be the kicker --- almost always rides on $15 used BS tires. The 8.6 best came while riding on the only "real" tires I've ever bought new, and they were All Season Dunlops with a 400 tradwear. I'm just playing with Sue, don't mean anything ugly, but you must also know why... we've ran each other numerous times and she generally whips me. As it stands now though, I beat the LT1 on the track most recent(still haven't smacked it on the road yet) but I gotz nothing for the LS1 she has. That's just it though, ALL cars and drivers ARE DIFFERENT, racing surfaces too. So no matter what you think "they" got, just remember - ANY GIVEN DAY anything can happen.

Sorry to hijack your post 4th, but the urge hit me to blurt that stuff. Maybe we should just run 'em, sounds like if nothing else it would be a good match-race.

As for you Sue, we already have agreed that me & my '98 is sandwiched somewhere between you & the '97/'99 combo, so that leaves the '87 - '88 match up. You game? I will be in a month or 2 hopefully... bounce.gif
SassySue09
Yea I know you're just playing with me, just like I was just kidding around with you.

Yea you did finally beat me and my 97 at the track - twice if I remember right but maybe with some good tires you can beat me on the street too. wink.gif

As for the 87/88 match up, we'll see. Hopefully my 87 will finally be done this summer with the engine swap and getting rid of all the computer crap on it.

And like Jon said, sorry for hijacking your thread Anson. cool.gif

so you're saying i should be in the mid 13s then not to shabby for a totally stock car with an original clutch with 120000 miles.....i know no wonder it slipped on the second run... its just not in the budget to buy a new clutch yet i'm hoping to do clutch heads intake rocker arms and cam all at the same time and maybe hit some low 7s maybe high 6s...
the fastest 4th gen this weekend was a 99 ws6 stock bottom end with a pro charger and after cooler....he was pulling 6.4-6.7 track was getting slower as the day progressed. he said he wasn't using the nitrous he'd just installed he thought that would but him in the high 5s. he also drove the car 67 miles to the track and drove home...that;'sjust awesome
oh formyla that would convert to high 8s to mid 9s in the quarter wacko.gif bounce.gif gears.gif
i was green with envy
SassySue09
I've seen totally stock LT1 4th gens run everywhere from mid/high 13s to mid 14s. Just depends on the car, the driver, the track conditions, air temps, humidity levels, sea level of the track, etc. A lot of factors figure into what a car will run on any given day.

Oh and on stock LS1 cars, I've seen them run anything from high 12s to mid/low high end 13s. Again it all depends on the factors I've listed above.

My issue is traction. Maybe I will put some slicks on, but I like my rear in place and the driveshaft under the car.
