Yes, I have raced a Bently Continental GT. For thoes of you who don't know too much about this car, its a 6.0L 12 cylinder Turbocharged engine producing 552bhp. Yes yes, LOTS of power however these cars are as heavy as buildings (they really are meant to be luxury cars with power) and weighs almost 2 times as much as our F-Bodies. I checked the 1/4 mile times on the Bently GT and they tend to run mid 13's. It was a very short race, maybe to about 55-60 or so cause of the area i was in. But i beat him by about half a car. I torqued the car at the light and that gave me the jump on him. The guy was cool and gave my car a thumbs up haha!

Anybody else who has a kill list, post it up!

Tyler
Ok,what mods have you done to that thing?
9T8W66
Ok Tyler
Car is basicaly Stock just a debaffled R/A Hood, Lid, Catback, and some free mods.
Hasn't changed much in awhile. Oh ya still has the original clutch also.
Keep in mind that all kills are not representative of every car in that configuration just result of what happened on a given day.
And also remember that the more powerfull or faster car is NOT always the Winner.
Experience has it's merits.

My Old `79 Trans Am took it's toll on many cars that should of had the advantage aswell.
Tyler
You still got some good wins there. Alot of the old muscle cars were 14 to low 15 second cars to.Ya still have to love the old stuff...

Ok,from what I can remember in no particular order,

WINS
Last 90's Eclipse-it was bad to.I won by about an 1/8th of a mile in a 1/4.

Modded 92 or 93 Mustang GT - a friend of mine.I had to start easy cause I could not hear him honking his horn.I still passed and beat him

92 Mustang GT w/ exhaust and pullies - one of my best friends.Beat him by around 5 car lenths.

79 Ford F150 with a built 460 - same friend and same amount of win length.

LT1 Z28 - dont know the guy but he was pretty nice.Just a random race.Won by 4-5 cars.

LT1 Z28 SS - a girl I know,and it was an easy win.

79 T/A - at the strip.He did run a 14.20 something.

68 Camaro - my favorite race.We were neck to neck till 130 mph and he ran out of steam and I started to pull away. 1/4 mile woulda been about even.

S10 w/350 - another friend. We stayed even till I hit 4th then I would ease ahead of him.

LOSSES

A foxbody Mustang LX - he beat me by around 5 cars.Mine was mostly stock at that time and I later found out that he had spent alot of money on the motor,so I did not feel to bad about it.

pretty good lists here! 9T8W66, did you notice any difference in performance from debaffling the R/A hood? I was thinking about doing that, but i am hesitant to cut up my hood. I know the air flows in directly, and also is it a problem with rain/bugs and stuff from the road?
Pyro97
I can hardly remember what I ate today but here goes
in the formula:
05 GTO
third gen camaro
turbo grand prix (3 times I think)
LS1 camaro twice, think he was cammed
LT1 Z28, cammed etc. was a close race. Next time we were both at the track he had some sticky tires and it was still a close race...but the outcome was reversed haha
99 S10 4 cylinder...it was a friend
05-06 mustang GT
03 anniversary cobra vert
newer Civic (last body style)
I know theres a few others, but I've only had this car at the track like twice in the past year so I can't remember. Woulda had another 03-04 cobra but that was the same race I got my first redlight...doh!

In the Z28
mid 90's civic blowing blue smoke. He kept gunning it in front of me from traffic lights during my lunch break and it was annoying me
beat up 90ish S10...he kept trying to take me from a couple lights and I got tired of listening to his straight pipe
2 friends 95 Z28s multiple times
Hemi charger
LS1 Ws6 (got her on the tree, best time in that car for me too)
another 90-91ish s10 with a v6
sprayed 95 mustang GT
sprayed 99 mustang GT
ford galaxy...i think this kill was in the Z

In my sisters Z28 vert
89 brown 4-door accord with walmart wing, fart pipe, and 2 aftermarket wheels. I had to ease off the line and only went up to maybe half throttle since the car had a broken trans. mount, I had to roll over some railroad tracks immediately off the first light, and there was a nother light coming up close and it was still a significant win. Oh yea, this was also the first night this car had been driven in about 2 months and I had a passenger.

in my old sonoma
late 70's oldsmobile....he lost a wheel and wrecked, does that count? laugh.gif

I couldn't tell you if it had an effect or not because the hood was debaffled before we installed it.
I also have the FRA (Free Ram Air) mod which seemed to make more of a difference.
No problems with Rain or anything either. The R/A Hoods are more for looks they don't give a noticable performance gain unless your at speeds above 100 mph I picked the hood up for $250 so I couldn't pass it up.

All of those runs were on the Street and most of them while the car was relatively Stock just a Catback and free mods. I learned over the yrs to maximize my advantage in all situations but I always like to give equal opportunity to my opponent. So Runs could very well be from a variety of mph 10-20-30+ So having a 6spd does have it's advantages. I always prefered running from a slow roll or rolling off a light to equalize the traction for both vehicles. But I have been known to pull a good holeshot from time to time but it's a litte hard on the clutch.
It is fairly well known that 6spd LS1's are devestating from a roll some of my opponents found this out the Hard way.

add a v6 mustang to the list for my formula...the girl driving was pretty cute too wink.gif

Haha niiiiiice!

Yeah i knew about the R/A hood only being really affective at really high speeds...but i still thought i would ask anyways. Is the Free Ram Air the induction system that has a metal plate under the front of the car so that air comes up into the airbox from the bottom as well? This is the one i am talking about http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/catalo...e19a48da427a579
I was wanting to get that but i read somewhere that it isn't recommended for WS6 versions. Not sure why...
9T8W66
They don't recommend the FRA for WS6's because of the raised air box and getting air from to fronts may creat turbulence in the Air box don't know if it's true but mine gets air from both areas and doesn't seem to have a problem but I don't have the raised Air Box.
I don't have a CAI set up I just did the Free mod that cuts a slot below the filter to allow more air in. I also have the EGR tube cut as well.

Blackbird Jon
I've ran sooooooooo many races over the few years with the '98 T/A that I can't come close to giving an accurate list, but I can say this: I've won more than I lost. I've ran all comers, beat some I probably shouldn't have and lost to some I surely should not have lost, but since I ride around with worn out rear hides so much it is bound to happen.

Bottom line for me, my car isn't a race car and could be much faster, but I just enjoy seeing people kicking it, whether they are smoking tires just for fun, lagging behind me, hanging in there side-by-side, or walking off and leaving me. Don't think I wouldn't challenge that rich fauker in a Bugatti Veyron next to me just to see him hand my butt to me on a platter when his quad turbo land speed rocket left me rolleyes.gif
ChaseHammer
lol £840,000 or approx $1,680,000...sheesh (also they are only making 300 of them)
SassySue09
I'm like BBJ, I'll run just about anything that will challenge me but most of the time lately I don't even waste my time with the ricers that live around me. With the price of gas the way it is to run them would just be a waste of my time and gas. laugh.gif

As for that car, that's nuts and just proves that some people have more money then brains, no matter how rare a car it would be. wacko.gif
