Are there any free mods for the LT1 f-body's? With my Subaur there are a number of free or cheap things you can do that you can actually feel in the seat of your pants (butt dyno). Are there things like relocation of sensors, etc. for this car?

There is the throttle body coolant bypass. You take the coolant lines on either side of the tb and connect them together and cap off the lines in the tb. Good for 6HP.

You can move the IAC sensor in the elbow of the intake just before the tb and move it closer to the air filer.

Some say that taking the screen out of the stock MAF and polishing the inside (WITHOUT DAMAGING THE WIRE IN THE MIDDLE) is good for a few, but that is debated to this day.

Get an air foil that goes in the tb to smooth the air going in. You can find them for around $12.

Those are a few that I can think of.

Nice- can't wait to dig in- which vendor stocks the air foil for the TB?

Dude, is there a DIY on how to do these mods somewhere? In particular, I'm looking for one on bypassing the coolant lines. thanks.

Here's a link on how to do the TB coolant bypass: http://shbox.com/1/tb_bypass.jpg

And I'm sure that other places like Summit, Jegs, etc. carry the air foil but here's a link to it on Thunder Racing: http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog/?acti...=4&pcid=220

upgrading your exhaust, 4.10 or 3.73 gears depending on your transmission, are a few cheap performance parts that you will notice some power. Oh btw throttle body coolant bypass adds a proven 5WHP. wink.gif

Thanks- alre3ady got headers and exhaust. Actually looking at an easy on/off race pipe to eliminate the cats until inspection time. Might go 4.10's at some point, but I'm concerned about mileage on the highway, as that's when I drive the car most.
