Ok, so the car has ahd an interesting weekend- it's losing a quart of oil a week- engine light came on (headers are frying the o2 sensors), low coolant light came on (maybe it's the water pump so I cna replace the Optispark too!). I don't have time to work on it in the next couple weeks and I want it up and runnign sooner than that, so it's going to a shop (eek) to have the work done tomorrow.

It's a pretty car and I know it'll be expensive so it's all good.

Anyway, here's some pix:

Hot car!!! I like the 'bird too cool.gif

Naw seriously, I do appreciate any f-body, I really prefer the 3rd & 4th gens more than the rest, and of the 93+ cars the plain flat hood Formula is my favorite! It is a really clean car and I hope you enjoy driving it! Low mile car must be nice to have too.

However, I said it on another of your posts and I say it again here - the Subaru is a hot ride! Sporty, classy, simple, comfortable - I want one bad!!! Therein lies the worst part, they are danged expensive. Even the plain jane rental fleet 2-3 year old Outback wagons are pulling 'bout 20K.

Which will win in a race, right now, as they sit?

Thanks, they are nice cars. The Subaru was the most powerful car I'd ever owned. But after having the Firebird for a couple weeks, it's the 'bird for sure. It has mods on it that I didn't know about and am still discovering, so maybe it has something done to make it that powerful. The Subaru is around 350 hp (a lot less to the ground when you factor in the driveline friction of AWD).

The bird may have 350 you will need to have it dyno tested to know for sure.

True. I am used to driving a Subaru with a turbo, which you kind of rolll onto the throttle to reduce lag and the bog that is so fun and comes with all wheel drive. With the Firebird, I can just get the car moving, mash the gas and go!

In case anyone was curious about the oil leak where it lost a quart a week, it was the front crankshaft seal (luckily, it was onyl a one hour job and not a seven hour one which it might have been based on the build date.). Weird stuff- I have a theory that the fact that it was shipped 7 hours with the suspension tied down really tight shook some stuff loose. It had broken bulbs and other weird stuff when it arrived.
