Ok i have right now a flowmaster 3 inch cat back exhaust system and it sounds nice but i dont think its giving me the most power. So i have been wanting to upgrade to tru duals for a while but there are a few questions that have been raised.

1. How is the ground clearance? I dont wanna be bottoming out everytime i hit a bump or somethin
2. What is the most effective way to run it under the car? I have seen a few different ways, just wanna know what other people think or know

I dont wanna spend more than a 1000 bucks on the system either. I plan on getting long tube headers and elimanting the cat if that helps to anything. It is a 1994 LT1 motor in my car. Thanks for your help

I don't have true duals on any of my cars but I've seen quite a few that do have them on. With each of them, whether the car has been lowered or not, there are issues with ground clearance since the true duals hang lower then the stock exhaust system does and as far as I know there's no way around this. Those clearance issues show up with speed bumps, potholes (both on the street and in parking lots), in driveways that aren't truly level or where the angle of them is steep (both up and down angle), etc.

As far as the most effective way, most of the ones I've seen use a "H" pipe after the manifolds (headers). With the "H" pipe you can run small mufflers on each side if you want to or you can "dump" the exhaust before the rear axle without issues for either of those. As far as the cost goes, I'm not sure on that so I'm not sure if you can do true duals for $1000 or less. Guess it'll just depend on where you get the parts, where you have it done or if you do the whole set up yourself.

Get the long tubes, the ORY pipe that deletes the cats, and a good cat-back exhaust system. The duals are not going to really give you much of a gain for the clearance lost.

Ok that i think sounds like the best idea yet. Now what cat back to get? I've heard that flowmaster has badd flow n i already have flowmaster so i was thinkin either magnaflow or borla. Or is there a SLP system for a LT1 cause ive never seen it
Thanks

I've got Magnaflow catback on both my 4th gens and I love it on them. Nice deep rumble at idle, loud at WOT and not too much noise on the inside of the cars either. Plus it's stainless and costs about half as much as Borla.

I have the Borla Tunable on my 95. I have it essentially wide open and it is LOUD with the cat gone ( I need to put it back). You can adjust it, but the smaller plates put too much into the car.

True duals, from what i hear, usually cost around the $1200 mark if done correctly with all new parts. Its not something i plan on doing, due to the price and the clearance problems that will come with it. But yes, SLP makes exhausts for 93-97 cars as well. They make the SLP Loudmouth, Loudmouth II, and also the lesser famous Dual-Dual exhaust. I had the SLP Dual-Dual exhaust on my 95 and it is just a bit more aggressive at idle and sounds really nice at WOT when compared to stock (not too loud, and a nice sound). I now have the SLP Loudmouth on my 98, and that sucker is LOUD...i have a friend who's got a 96 Z28 with shorties and the Loudmouth on his car and it sounds really nice. SLP and Magnaflow's exhausts are also pretty inexpensive exhausts, especially when compared to Borla, Corsa, GMMG and such.

I had a video of my old 95 with the SLP Dual-Dual on it, but i can't find it and i think it may have been deleted...but i'll look and try to post it up. But for now you should check out ls1sounds.com they have tons of different exhaust clips with different exhausts.

Or since you've got an LT1 car you can check out LT1engine.com, they've got sound clips for/from LT1 cars: http://www.lt1engine.com/media/exhaust.php

Doesn't have to be expensive.......

Ok i think im gonna get pace setter long tubes, the pace setter ory pipe, n the SLP Loudmouth II exhaust system. Now i have 2 questions
1. Can anyone give me a possible HP gain from this? cause this is gonna cost me a lot of money
2. Do i need to buy anything to keep the O2 sensors?

Thank you everyone for givin me these idea too
