On the way home from Sonic about 1/2 an hour ago I'm in the Camaro and pull up behind a Blue 350Z waiting on traffic to turn left....

There is a break in the on comming cars so He turns ...
I turned also (Didnt need to but I did) and
what is he doing? I hear him grab a lower gear and get rubber!
so what did I do???
I grabbed a lower gear and got a little sideways and its ON!
We rip thru the gears and are quickly agining speed and Im pulling up on him

Then

he lets off and has to brake for traffic in front of him ohmy.gif
I had to nail the brakes! no it wasnt that close but I really wasnt expecting to have to quit the run just yet huh.gif
and I sent the bags with the sonic food to the floor board censor.gif but nothing cam out or got on the carpet

He waved as he turned off - a proper end to a good race

The bad thing is when I decided to GO I didnt have time to look for cops and check for an all clear - shame shame on me
Thats a good way to get a ticket!

That wasnt a stock Z - I'll have to look him up again - maybe at the track!

You would have killed him. I knocked one off with ease in my poor ole LT1.

I've run several at the track and they were not as quick as this one - it may have been charged...

It was fun fosho

yes...yes it is.
kinda like getting on it up to twice the speed limit then catching the reflection of your headlights on the blue stripes of a public safety car dry.gif

That is when you nail it, I mean... umm... slow down really really fast and disappear.

heh..mighta been a little tough since the road was only about 1/2 mile long running between 2 bigger roads and I saw him sitting at the end as I slowed down. Speed limit was only 35. He left me alone though cool.gif

Cool run Charlie, even if you didn't look for any popo before you ran and you sent the Sonic onto the floor.

As for them being fast, unless they've changed them recently those cars they are slow. In the past I've managed to kill a couple of them in my 97.

Pyro at least it was just a public safety car but cool that he left you alone. Where I live three district areas merge - local, county and state cops - so I have to keep an eye out for three different style cars, along with all of their unmarked ones. Talk about living in an area that's a kill joy to having any fun.

Cool run. Keep an eye open for that traffic! I've had a few close calls myself!

Nice run man, but yeah as everybody said, be careful for cops before you gun it. I know how it is to get caught in the moment and just forget lol. Those 350Z's are slow indeed, i raced one in my old LT1 and beat it pretty easily. Plus, i think they look like a clown shoe LOL!!!

I wen to the Ferrari day at NPR today and saw a 350z and asked him if it was him. It wasnt but he said his ran mid 13's. He also said there was on around here that dynoed 600 hp with twin turbos. He didnt know the one I ran. I'll find him and find out what he's running.

Mid 13's?? In his dreams!
