My hubby's old Firehawk I have traced down to being in Montgomery County, Ohio, and was last registered in March or April of 2006. This car has a salvage title with a scary carfax history! However, for some odd reason, he'd die to have the car back.
In 1999, he got into a really bad accident in it. Car caught on fire, was totalled. He recently found a photo of him and his father when he got the car and it has made him want more than ever, to get the vehicle back.
If anyone knows of a Black 1999 Firehawk in Montgomery County Ohio, let me know!! I have the VIN number if anyone needs. We'll pay to get it back.

If no one here knows anything about it you might try looking on here:
http://www.firehawk.org/ That's the official site for the Firehawks and someone on there might know something about it or might even be the owner of it. Hope that helps you out.

I tried what you said! Actually found the production number and it is listed on it's site as "Totalled" (Which I knew because my other half destroyed it!) But that was about it. I went to the Ohio Motor Vehicle and was able to find that it is owned by someone in Montgomery County, Ohio. Wish I could find this car! Would make the best Christmas present ever!! haha

Ah ok, sorry that wasn't more help.
You say that you done a carfax on it and that you found it is owned by someone in Ohio, from either of those do you have the name of the person who has it or any other information about the person besides the county they live in?

That isn't much information is it.
Do you know what the major city or cities are that are in Montgomery County? I was just thinking that if there aren't too many maybe you could place an add in the major paper, or papers, for that city or cities saying something along the lines that you're looking for the owner of 1999 Black Pontiac Firehawk and that if anyone knows the owner that you'd like for them to contact you at XXXXXX.
I mean, it couldn't hurt to see if you could get in touch with the person that way cause who knows stranger things have happened.

I know Dayton is a big town there. That's an excellent idea!!

Hey since Dayton is close by I just thought of something else you could do, you could see if you could get ahold of someone in the Trans Am Club of American Dayton Chapter. Who knows the person who owns the car might be a member or someone in the club might know the owner.
Here's a link to the form for the 2008 Trans Am Nationals that has some contact info towards the bottom for some of the people in the club:
http://78ta.com/nats/And here's a link to the clubs webpage:
http://www.angelfire.com/yt3/tanats/Just figured I'd throw those two out there for you to see if I can help you find the owner.

Now I want to go to the Trans Am Nationals!!
I'm going to see if I can somehow contact someone in that area. Maybe they would have an idea if there is a Firehawk around. They're pretty rare. You tend to remember those you dont see much of, you think?

I'm hoping to go in '08 myself since it's been a few years since I went.
Yea, that's why I gave you those link. I'm sure if you contact one of the people on the registration form (they're members of the club btw) that if the car is in the club they'd know or that they'd be able to find out or that if it's been seen in the area that someone in the club has at least talked to the owner or knows how to get in contact with him/her. But you're right, since they are so rare, when you see one it's hard to forget that you did.
But good luck and I hope I've been of some help to you in your search for the owner.

I emailed the Ohio Firebird club. They do not have a forum, but I emailed the president. Hope he can help!

i would call all the salvage and junk yards in the country and check their listed cars...if you are lucky it wont be parted. worst case you should find the body and some panels. oh course there is a good shot that it is all still the way it was seen last being still listed as 1 owner (your husband).
also the salvage yards SHOULD have a list of all the vehicles in their yard...i hope you find it... that would be a awesome tale to tell once its restored

Take it from me, the Trans Am Nationals are a blast! Went in '05 and it was a great time!
