Full Version: Seatbelt options?

I'd like to have some kind of a seatbelt system in place to hold my body straight when I'm cornering hard- is there anything out there that just bolts in somehow? I looked on jegs.com and came up with something that attaches to a roll bar, but that's not gonna work without a roll bar and I ain't putting one in.

Sorry for the huge sentence.

I'm not sure where it's at anymore but I know there's a 5-point harness set up that you can put in our cars that doesn't require a roll cage. I keep thinking I saw it on either Summit Racing or Thunder Racing. But a 5-point harness will keep you upright in your seat since it's got the straps that not only go across your lap but one that comes up between your legs and two straps that go over your shoulders (one over each shoulder). You might be able to get away with a 4-point harness too. It's the same as the 5-point one except it doesn't have the strap that comes up between your legs.

Get a racing seat with wrap-around leg bolsters and shoulder supports..... then add a roll bar and a 5-point or 6-point harness. You will not move at all...... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

That'd be nice!

The other thing to keep in mind.... something as safe as a Simpson 3" 5-point harness is an excellent piece of safety equipment, but unfortunately, it is not DOT approved for street use. If your state/county has a ball-buster safety inspection, or if you run into an over-zealous cop, you may find they will not accept the 5-point harness as meeting the safety requirements for street driven vehicles.

Pretty bass-acwards.

I'm not looking to replace the seatbelts though- I really want something in addition to the stock belts, just to hold m' bee-hind in place when cornering.

What would the price be like? I only need one for the driver's side.

I'm having a hard time picturing how I'll install them- do I need anything but those?
