Thinking about getting rid of my stock 16" and getting 18" mags, will this affect the cars performance also having a 95 Formula it seems my choses of style are very limited, something about the lugnut spacing is this a common problem with the F body?

If you stick with 18's you won't have many options that's why most people don't go with them but rather with 17's. Lots more options and 17's are earier to find for our cars then 18's are. So I'd check out 17's for your car.

Plus another thing, 18" tires are hard to come by too if you want anything besides regular passenger style tires while 17" tires in just about any speed rating you can think of are easy to fine.

18's aren't that bad and there are literally 100's of wheels available for F-bodies in 18"
Tires do get expensive but that really depends on what brand you get.
My AZA Z-08 are 18x8.5 Front w/245/40/18 and the rear's are 18x9.5 w/275/35/18.
Tires are Kuhmo Exsta SPT's they carry a Y speed rating and are comparable to any other high performance tire.
Total Cash Outlay was under $1300
Here are some pics

9T8W66; those rims look hot! And different! I am so sick of seeing our F-body cars with Corvette rims.

You are so right.
The Biggest reason I went with these was because they were Different.
I was so tired of seeing the same old cookie cutter wheels on these cars. It's like come on people be original, theres nothing wrong with being different and different is good.
I've seen enough ZO6 wheels in my time, TT II's aren't much better cause every hot rodder on the Planet has those.

And whats wrong with Corvette mags??? I went with the 18" Corvette C6 Rims 9.5 fronts and 10.5 rears. You dont see to many Firebirds with C6 rims as you do with the Z06/TTII rims imo. As a matter of fact I have yet to see ANY firebirds other than mine with the C6 Rims Online OR on the street. Heres a few pics to help ya make a good choice.

No offense intended but I would never put a Chevy wheel on a Pontiac.
IMO if your going to spend the money to upgrade why go with another Factory GM Wheel.

I hear ya, but as you surely know not many aftermarket rims out there with a 10.5 rear that have that *BLING!* factor either.

As for puttin Chevy on Pontiac. Ive always considered the Firebird/Trans Am to be the little sister to the ungodly Camaro. Fine so be it. Almost 70% of the parts are interchangalbe etc. Nothing wrong with it not one least bit, but to each their own.

So then now you have:

Performance VS Custom

er ah I have both a Camaro and Formie and on refinement as well as power on the earlier Birds / Camaros the Camaro was the little brother. Before I had a Bird it use to gripe me that Pontiac had a 400 while Chevy had the 327/350 (Big Blocks aside) I'll admit it - my bird is sexier than my cam - oh well!

I got a good deal on these C5 wheels even tho I was trying to get Akusa Sublimes. I've been happy with the choice. They are light and unsprung weight affects performance.

It is a lot harder to find 18" wheels in an offset for thirdgens. One option some use, is to run the 2" spacers with fourthgen offset wheels. Take a look at Group A wheels. They sell ROH wheels and have a few different styles of 17"-19" wheels in the correct thirdgen offset (beautiful deep dish).

Yeah. Even if they WERE an aftermarket design and NOT on the 'Vette, I would still like them. IMO They just seem to accent our cars very well (Firebirds/Trans Ams AND Camaros), especially if the car is a darker color.

I wanna get me some of those smile.gif

Yea, I hav corette zr1's on my car and I like how they look(no pics yet, sorry)...at first i was planning on changing out the center caps and doing some custom pontiac ones because i thought i was gunna get tons of crap for having chevy rims on a pontiac, but everybody compliments them! I was at a party last night and there was 4 or 5 guys askin me all sorts of questions about the rims and tires because they liked them so much! I geuss what it comes down to is you cant please everybody, so do what u like! I personally dont care for 9.9 out of 10 aftermarket wheels for these cars besides torq thrusts...most other wheels, especially if they are 18's(even vette rims) dont look like theyre suppose to be there to me, like they dont belong...I dunno, thats just my taste tho. I like things that look like they came from the factory, thats why I like most of the vette rims on our cars...GM performance style rims and tires on a GM performance vehicle...

to each his/her own however...

If it's the wheel that you like the most, i see no problem with that!
Honestly, i think those C6 rims look hot on your formula, creed! You're right you dont see them anywhere, and i would never have imagined it to look good. But when you actually see them on the car, the story changes.
Creed420
Yeah I love em! sure beats shelling out 4grand for some CCW's 505A's... oooohhh how would I love to get my hands on a set of those lol
Formyla
18 tires do cost more than the 17's for some reason - same brand same style
something to consider when replacing them when they wear out....
