So i just thought it would be interesting and fun to post up a little "before" and "after" thread of my car before i put on my longtubes tomorrow. I have the "before" vid from quite a while ago after i got my slp loudmouth on the car.
Mods currently on the car are: SLP Air Lid w/ K&N filter, SLP Loudmouth I catback.
Installing SLP Longtubes w/ catted y (random tech highflows)
Enjoy!

Well i finally got my Longtubes put on and i just got around to taking a quick soundclip of the sound. I gotta say, it doesnt sound quite the same on the camera, its much louder and more "race car" sounding in person.

Sorry Ryan, this is the first time I've had a chance to check them out. Your baby definetly sounds alot sweeter now then it did before.
Now quit posting and go out and have some fun with it.

Ah no problem at all! I know the forum has been experiencing a bit of a "lull". But thank you, it really does sound much better. One thing that i really like is that it revs up so much quicker than it used to. It makes it sound like it's got more power (well, it does haha).

Sounds better and yeah, it does sound like it revs faster in the 2nd vid. How much them long tubes run ya and how long did the install take you?

Holy Cow! I'm going into withdrawal pains here. Played the video like 10 times, drove the parakeet nuts. So, that 's what a real car sounds like? I've forgotten. I'd make a video of how our Scoobaru sounds, but don't think anyone would be interested. Hell! I'm not even interested.
What are you going to do to the heads?

Yes the car really does rev up faster. The whole setup originally cost somewhere around 1200-1300 dollars (SLP LT's, Y-pipe, and the SLP high-flow cats). But I bought them off of somebody from LS1tech used with about 3000 miles on the headers and 100 miles on the cats for 350 bucks. Couldn't pass that up...
It took a good weekend to install. Nothing difficult, just a lot of different steps and things to do. However, I had help from my dad and a friend, and without them i'm SURE the job would have been a horrific nightmare (for me at least haha)
I don't plan on messing with the heads just yet, main reason is because i don't have any money for those. That's an expensive mod for sure...but i don't think i'll change them out for a while (if ever). I want to put in 3.73's and a mild cam (i was thinking a 224/224 114) or something in that ballpark. I'm not too knowledgeable about the cams, but i think that's what i am looking for. If i do a cam, i don't think i'll change the heads out. But yeah, besides a tune, those are my next plans.
