Is anyone familiar with the MAC torque arm? My mounting point has been relocated from the transmission to just left of the drive shaft and loop. It's making a bumping noise when backing up and over some bumps. At the front mounting point just behind the bushing and grease fitting there seems to be a little play in it! It looks like a steel shaft slides into the end of the actual red torque arm! Is this for adjustments to ride height or travel or is it broken? what would it do if i welded the shaft to the trque arm???

Well, before tonight I didn't even know Mac made a torque arm for our cars but here is what i found. It looks like it is supposed to be two pieces right there. Looking at the design it looks like it relies on the arm floating on that front mounted part to allow full travel of the suspension. I think if you were to weld it you might end up with some binding problems. In the stock mount with the long factory torque arm the arm can slide and it quiet since it just slides in rubber. With the short style performance pieces usually they are a little noisy since they are trying to control the movement of the torque arm by making the the mount for it more ridged along with the arm itself being stronger.
