My pontiac is my daily driver right now...I have the transmiision being taken out and rebuilt tomorrow...it will be shipped to a shop about 90 miles from here, and they wont start working on it until later in the week...I was wondering how expensive stalls and shift kits are and if they are a goo idea for a daily driver...it's not a weekend drag strip warrior or anything, so it dont need too much...what would these do to gas mileage?
Ive only got a couple days to decide, so any posts/testimonials are greatly appreciated! thanx!

Tell the shop rebuilding it that you want firmer shifts. You wont need to buy a "kit" if they know what they are doing. Harder shifts wont really affect your mpg but it is good for the transmission since it gets rid of heat inducing slip. A stall will boost performace but is not good for fuel milage. How many mpg you can lose I dont know.

I just got off the phone with the transmission shop. They said they can put in a "Heavy Duty" kit and Ill definately notice a difference. My buddy got his done at the same shop with an awesome reputation...he said he can scratch 3rd with the transmission perform button in his a4...this should be fun! My tires are pretty bald and when i push it to the floor now i can spin them at 40-45 getting on the highway...this should allow me to spin them off around 55 or so...I think this is gunna be insane...Im way excited to get my car back!
