As much as I hate to part with this car, my wife says it can't go with us when we move to the east coast. This 1980 bird has 51083 actual miles! better yet I had the original numbers matching engine rebuilt and balanced, it has 552 miles on it. Oh by the way the Turbo charger was rebuilt at the same time and a new Flowmaster exhaust was installed.
When I bought this car and decided to rebuild the motor, I turned to the expert advice from the great people on this forum. Every question that I had about the car was answered and the advice was always helpful. About 2 weeks ago I put a question out to the members for an approximate value on this car. The response was limited but I thought it was right on. One of the comments that I did receive though, was that their hope was that whoever bought the car would appreciate it. This is where my special offer comes into play, since it is very clear that the members of this forum truely do appreciate these fantastic cars I would much rather see it be in the hands of a member of this forum. Therefore, anyone that is interested in this car that is a member of the Formula Source can purchase this car for $9,000!!!
About the car!
1980 Firebird Formula coupe 301 (4.9 Liter) Turbo charged. ther were only 9,356 Formulas manufactured in 1980 and I have not been able to find out how many of them had the turbo charged engine. My guess is that it was far less than 9,356!
I have a file folder full of info for this car, including the original sticker info and the maint. records!
options for the car include:
Custom trim interior-veluor (Camel)
Air-tilt cruise-pwr steering-pwr brake
Pwr windows
AM/FM cassette (replaced with Pioneer AM/FM CD but I have the original working AM/FM cassette player)
Special performance package which included:
T/A cast aluminum 15" wheels
front and rear disc brakes
special handling package
Limited slip differential
As mentioned earlier the engine and turbo charger were rebuilt with 552 miles on them (see attached pics of the engine and tranny before they were installed in the car). The engine was also balanced. There is a new flowmaster exhaust. The car does not have any rust or any dents. The interior is in great shape. Tires are like new!
NADA lists this car as follows
Low retail 6,469 Average retail 10,250 High retail 16,313
This car is in my opinion far better than average and probably closer to the high retail condition.
I have attached a few pics of the car in low res. but can provide many more high res photos if someone wants to see more.
The car is located just north of Minneapolis MN.

is this still for sale? i live just south of minneapolis and am looking to upgrade or at least for a good engine. if a trade+cash is at all possible it would be a great help because cash isn't anywhere near flowing for me right now so multiple cars would be a no no. i'm not expecting this to still be available but it would be amazing if it was.
