Well today i had to go to Kinkos to make some copies of a few forms i needed, and on my way back i decided i would take the highway home. I haven't driven on the highway after i put the longtubes on, so i wanted to run her a bit. Anyways, driving towards the freeway i noticed a silver 07 Hyundai Tiburon driving behind me. It was dark so i really couldn't see much of it...just the basics. Well shortly after we both got onto the highway and i really had no thought to race this thing since i knew it was just a tiburon...but anyways a few minutes later he pulled into the right lane and sped up quick till he got next to me. I saw that it was that Tuscani version of the car when he slightly passed me. (they have a big "T" emblem and it says "Tuscani" on the left) and so then he slowed down enough for me to get next to him again. Then he slooowly started to speed up and i matched his speed. We worked our way till we were about 75-80 and he floored it. No idea why he wanted to run an LS1 at such a high roll but as soon as he got the hit i just floored it and immediately stopped his pull and proceeded to wax him till about 120. This guy got his doors blown off brutally...It was a short race, but only cause i didn't feel like wasting any more gas or going to jail...but it was enough to teach him an important lesson:

Never EVER race your 176hp FWD 6cyl Tiburon against a bird, not to mention an LS1 on the highway.

I would not count on that. With gas prices soaring, I have had to just let them go here lately, not to mention increase in traffic.

Good kill Ryan. It's always nice to put a ricer in it's place - cars length behind you seeing our pretty taillights. hehe

But what probably happened is he had raced a V6 Bird before and like most ricers he doesn't know how to tell the difference between a V6 Bird and a V8 Formula or T/A so he figured he had another car his could sorta compete against, not a car with something more then 2 squirrels under the hood.

And if he's like the ricers around me, he will try again - and again and again and again - until he does learn the difference.

True gas prices are getting really really high, but i mean it was only a 4 second race...what did i burn like 60 cents worth of gas? I will race anybody who challenges me, mainly cause i very rarely get into any races. So a race once-in-a-while doesn't hurt me at all. But i dunno, I would be surprised if the guy thought it was a V6 considering he was following me through town for a while and my car is pretty loud now haha. But hey ya never know...ricers have no clue about V8's, they all just assume that because their car is lighter, than they can put up a good race. Cracks me up...

I could never figure out why all those damn ricers wanted to race me, then one day, glanced at the script V8 on the right rear bumper and NUTZ, it DOES look like a V6. Do ya suppose those GM stylists did that on purpose with a grin on their faces??? Maybe so.

By the way, "Tiburon" is supposed to mean shark, so is a Tiburon Tuscani a Northern Italian Shark? And here's the funny part...if so, it's a Northern Italian Shark made in Japan. They don't have sharks in Northern Italy!

Maybe it's supposed to be a land shark, abet a toothless one, but a land shark none the less.

ricers don't learn too well at all. it's funny when they get their butt handed to them by a fullsize 4wd truck and then try again with the same results

Saw a You Toob video a couple of weeks ago--this guy in a Scoobaru 4 wheel drive, the "fast" one, was out racing stuff on the street, and picked on a Corvette. The passenger in the Scoobie said to the guy in the Corvette--this is a 4 wheel drive, gonna take you out of the hole..you sure about racing us? The Corvette guy didn't say a thing. Light turned green and all the Scoobie saw was red tail lights. Wasn't even close. Ricers never learn...there is no subsitute for cubic inches.

Yep. That's why i'll own a V8 muscle every day of my breathing life till i die. I've owned nothing but V8 firebirds since i was 16 and any piece of "Jap-Crap" I buy will seem like a slug...i just couldn't ever do it.
