Ill admit, i like not having to worry about gear shifting sitting in traffic, but i REALLY want a six speed in my 97 convertible...Is a swap possible? and does anyone know the rear end gear ratio for convertibles? i heard that they were smaller than the others...true or no?

A swap is possible. Most go to TA Creations

Convertibles have the same as the other models. The Automatic can have the 2.73's or the 3.23's. The 6 speeds have 3.42's.

Yep i looked into doing this on my T/A. After all the research and reading up on it, i decided to keep my automatic and save myself the grief of a nightmare. It's a difficult job for sure, although i know of many people on LS1tech who have done it. There are even a few writeups on there. If you're interested i can locate them for you.
