Sounds like the tranny mount has let go. This is the rubber mount that is not fit for a v6, let a lone a v8. To check this, simply get under your car and pull the rear of the trans side to side. If it is good, you should not be able to move it. Get the poly mount from your local parts store for about 25 - 30 dollars.

Yup I agree, more then likely the tranny mount has bite the dust. Besides moving the tranny from side to side you can also see if you can get the tranny to lift up using a breaker bar/small crow bar/large screw driver. It should lift up at all if the mount is still good. And I also agree with the aftermarket poly mount. They're much stronger then the stock ones and will last a good long time as compared to the stock ones cause if you put a stock one on you'll be changing it out again before you know it, especially if you like to do "hard launches" with your car.

i had my tranny mount go in my 95 formula. Although mine acted a bit different, whenever i accelerated fast enough it would cause a huge "BANG" noise and jolt throughout the car. And yes, if it's finished...replace it with a poly mount. They're not much money
