http://videos.streetfire.net/video/88-Form...-and_166355.htm < quick and simple video had low battteries so i was trying to hurry.

btw u can see in the video my volt gauge.. i ran a multimeter and it shows 14 sometimes 13 so its displaying incorrectly i think? the capasitor shows the same as the multi-meter test.

Car looks great. Nice & shiney. Do you know where I can get a hood like that?
fmla505
very clean looking car.
MiScHiEf
thanks guys.

its your basic 87-92 formula hood, im not sure they make them anymore, dont think so, you'll have to find them used.

Car's looking good Tim.

Where you checking with the multimeter to get those readings? But it isn't unheard of for the inside gauge to be wrong, especially in the 3rd gens.
MiScHiEf
Um, both the - and + battery posts, the Capacitor i put in also reads the same as the multi-meter, with car off it reads in the 12 area, same as capacitor.

14.7 Volts when cold,

14.0 When warm, if lights and radio on probably 13.30 and brake lights applied it goes down too, i know it had a hitch before.. so the wiring is still there, looks to be professionally done.

Something is definitely off tho... has to do with heat, i dont really see a power decrease but it annoys me.

Have you read the actual output of the alternator itself? If you can get that reading it might help us figure out what's going on with your car.

But I will tell you this, it is normal for there to be as much as a couple of volts difference on the 3rd gens. It happens with my 87 and with several others that I know, especially between with what the car is actually putting out and with what the inside gauge is reading.

Sweet rims are they TT IIs? I never really pictured them on a 3rd gen. My old blue desparately needs new shoes. I have the stock rims with a chunk taken out of one of them.

Tyler - I've got a formie hood with the offeset cowl at the house, I'll bring it to the nats!

Good looking (and sounding!) car.

Clean car man. Is that the 305? Or L98?
