the airport hotel will be gone after the show this year. whether or not the show continues remains to be seen. I hear talk of it combining with the ames pontiac nationals. personally i think this would suck a lot. oh i'm there this year.

It's ok Bonnie, it's not your fault and I was just giving you a hard time. The default setting is to show only posts made in the last 30 days. To see ones made before that you have to change the setting at the bottom of the main Special Events page to show all.
With me it will still depend on the money situation and if I can get off work.

Better request off now. We owe you dinner, remember?

I'm gonna request off next week. Hopefully by the time Nats gets here I'll have enough money saved up to go especially with the way these gas prices are going. And yea I remember about the dinner.

Sorry guys, but it looks like the Gods are against me again this year. I've had a run of bad luck that has caused me to use the money I've been saving to come on other things (water heater bit the dust, starter on my 97 went bad and my one kitty cat that's my youngest daughters pet got sick and needed surgery to get the problem straightened out and fixed).
Hopefully luck will be with me next year and they'll still have TA Nats next year and I'll be able to come then.
But all of you who end up going, have fun, take LOTS of pics so I know what I all missed and have a beer or two for me.

I wish I could go, but we've got too much going on this weekend. It's been a BUSY summer. I've got my 20 year class reunion on Saturday.
By the way, I've stayed at the Comfort Inn in Huber Heights. It's nice and clean, good rate and Nick, the owner, is very nice. Also, go to Jackass Flats for their pizza!

I think the Drury inn is where we stayed last year. Sue turned us onto it. They have a happy hour kind of thing each night with drink tickets you can use on beer, and free stuff like popcorn, nachos, chips, pretzels, party food you know. And a mini car show there too.
I highly recommend it.

I used to stay at the Drury Inn in Grove City (Columbus). They definitely have a great setup for business travel. Those drink tickets came in handy more than a few times.

They've got a great breakfast for the price (free), too.

Yea the Drury Inn in Huber Heights about 2 or 3 miles from the show is where Bonnie is talking about. It's down by the Hooter's and Golden Correl. Can't remember which exit it is though for it. But within a couple of miles it are several self car washes, plenty of places to eat/drink/hang out and just general shopping incase you need to get anything.

Alot of show people stay there. It's really nice.
Trailer has 2 new tires and truck has been serviced today (don't want any repeats of last year - 2 breakdowns). Car is clean except for the little detailing we'll take care of at the show.

the fair field where we are staying is by hooters as well near the big walmart and sam's club. is this the same area you are talking about?

Yes, If you're still checking mail! Just a few doors down from the Drury. Sitting in a Holiday Inn Express in Morgantown. Set back a bit by a flat tire and a screwed up lug nut a few miles back. Yes, one of the new ones. We'll get there. Find us 4times. We always somehow end up in heavy modified in the parking lot.

Day 2 over. We're having a great time! I'm getting tons of ideas for next year (yes there will be a next year at a marriott in Dayton)
Found Bonnie's car, but not Bonnie yet. 4times - anybody know what the car looks like or anything that would identify him or the car?

Glad you're having a great time Bonnie. Sure wish I was able to make it this year but since I know there will be one next year you can dang well be sure I'll be at that one come heck or high water.
As for Anson, look for a 4th gen bird with Mississippi plates at the Fairfield Inn down the road from you. More then likely the plate will read NOT AV6, at least it should if all he did was shift plates from his old car to his new one.

Oh and you are taking lots of pics aren't you? At least that way I can pretend that I was there this year.

Interesting choice of words Sue....let's hope NOT high water.
Got the pictures - on myspace, or I can email them to you if you want.

Yea that is an interesting choice of words - considering all the high water that happened around me this year.
I'll just check them out on myspace. Thanks for posting them.

Put on your calendar for next year. I think I have the dates somewhere in my stuff (still haven't completely unpacked - too much excitement around my place.)
