I bought some new tires (17 inch Yoks-275-40-17) and rims as I mentioned in a previous post but something happened when I went for a safety check on my car. A mechanic at the place said I had nice rims but that they are for a "Mustang" and the other mechanic said not necessarily.

When I purchased the rims I was told they were not just for a Mustang. Than again this mechanic said he preferred Ford over GM.

I think the rims look great on my car just a little pissed after he said that.

Nope, those r kinda like the bullitt style rims you see on some mustangs...not necessarily a mustang rim tho, just similar to one. They'd look good on an fbody I think...

yea I think he was mistaking them for the bullit wheels, which are more common for stangs but still look good on f-bodies.

My rims are far from a bullit style wheel.

Ah you've got the Torque Thrust rims...yes they do look similar to the mustang but they are different. The way the "spokes" curve and how deep they go in are completely different than the mustang. But it is easy to get confused if you aren't really familiar with either rim.

And as for the Torque Thrust rims you have, they are actually one of the most popular rims to put on an Fbody...because they look straight-up awesome. They are what i want to get, except i want to get the Torque Thrust II's. Nice rims man!

I never really give a flying rats crap what people think. If you like them thats your car and you can do whatever you choose. My favorite rims are the chrome 5 spoke Firehawk wheels.But,the Torque Thrust wheels are my 2nd choice. They do look great,especially CHROME!

OH YES FIREHAWK rims are the best!!!! Only problem is they are pretty much impossible to find. If i was a really really bad person, i would probably swap my wheels with a firehawk if i saw one.....IF i was a bad person haha.

Good choice in wheels, I've got 17" TT2s on my Formula and love 'em.

I've got some generic "Bullitt"s on my Formula, think the name was OE Wheels. They look very good, who cares what they are called and what type of car is supposed to have them.

Time to find a new mechanic.

Those rims look great on a f-body. I have Bullets on my Mustang, and considered getting the Boyd's smoothies (same style) for my TA. I plan on getting either the TT chrome, or the Astro supremes (old school) for the 59 chevy truck I'm redoing. As you can tell I love that style of rim.
