Hi Everyone. I'm new here, but have been pretty active on the LS1LT1 forum over the past couple of years...same username.
I'm not British, BTW biggrin.gif - I have a couple of Brittany dogs, hence britdog.

I have a stock 1995 Red Formula M6 with 140k miles. It's a Summer-only car and I autocross with local SCCA club and other local car clubs as I can. My first "big" job on the car was to fix the intake manifold oil leak, which I was happy to diagnose, since the guy who I bought the car fromt thought it might have been the main seal leaking. Good news for me and a good opportunity to roll up my sleeves on the car a bit.
Since then, I've done the throttle body coolant bypass and removed the air intake silencer.

Upcoming plans are to replace the shocks and possibly replace the stock springs with Strano springs, depending on budget constraints this coming winter. I'll then probably replace at least the front sway bar, and maybe rear and bolt in some subframe connectors.
After that, I'll probably look to do intake and at least a cat-back, but hopefully do a full exhaust. I've read about headers being a very frustrating job, though.

I guess that's it. Nice forum, and I hope to be a good contributor.

Welcome to the Source! It is always to good to hear someone is able to fix their own vehicle.

Where are the pictures?

Thanks smile.gif
I have some pics at http://www.fquick.com/britdog

I've always not minded turing a wrench on my cars, but since this is a third car and not a daily driver, I've gotten deeper in, doing things I hadn't on previous cars. It's good that there's not the pressure of time or breaking something that would take a daily driver out of commission.
I've learned a lot so far. With a Chilton's manual and the help of the good people on these forums and the right tools, I figure I can try most jobs.

Funny thing is, the one thing I've had to take my car to someone else to fix is the friggin' horn. Ground wire had to be replaced...I never would've figured that out. Sometimes it's also good to know when to cut and run and bite the bullet and take it to a professional banghead.gif

welcome.gif to TFS britdog! Nice looking car, thanks for the pics of it too.

I do hope that you enjoy yourself and if you've got any questions either about your car or the site please feel free to post them up. Someone here will be able to help you out.

Also can you please fill in your Tech Tool Tray with the information about your car (model year, engine, automatic or manual tranny, any mods you may do in the future, etc). That way if you do post up any questions we'll have the basic information that we'll need to help you out. Thanks!

Welcome, Britdog. Nice looking Bird. When I was shopping for boats, it seemed like a lot of Donzis were for sale in the Lake George area. There must be a lot of gearheads in your area. cool.gif

I am having troubleing figuring out how to update th Tech Tool Tray, though. When I go to my profile, along the left side, I can update my personal info, but none of the options about the vehicle are updatable. Any tips?

There are a goo number of Donzis on the lake and I think an even higher number of gearheads, as well cool.gif

I have a Chaparral, myself that I use primarly for waterskiing.

It's ok, I can tell you how to get to where you need to go to get to the area where the Tech Tool Tray information is at.

What you need to do is click on 'My Dashboard' at the top of the page, then click on 'My Controls', which will open a new page. Once that page is open look along the left hand side until you see the words 'Edit Profile Information' and click on that, which once again will open a new page. Near the bottom of that page you'll see 'Make/Model/Engine/Mods'. Those are the areas that you need to fill in with the information about your car for the Tech Tool Tray.

If you need help finding anything else on here let me know and I'll point you in the right direction.

Got it updated now. Thanks for the pointer!

Welcome!!

You'll love the strano springs, I do!
the koni's Sam recommends are expensive tho smile.gif I have koni's up front and bilsteins HD on the back.
I got an 1LE bar for the front but havent gotten around to installing it yet.
I've got 315's on the back and had to roll the fenders - my headers are only 3" off the road - she sits real low and handles like you wouldnt believe

This is on my 02Z28

I'd put an 1LE bar on the Formie before Neil bought it from me - it made a difference - he'll have to do the springs himself!
