Full Version: Header Installation

So, decided on catted pacesetters and a Loudmouth II. Went to a local dealership (used car dealership, not a new lot) that has a great reputation for working on american muscle. He told me he would install my headers, y-pipe, and catback for around $450. I've heard that this isn't too bad of a price.

Any thoughts? I know he does high quality work, so I guess that would warrant somewhat of a higher price.

I would MUCH rather do it myself. The driver's side looks pretty straight forward, but the passenger side seems like it might be a bit harder, with all the EGR fittings and what not. And I don't have a shop, so it would be an outdoor operation (but everything I do on a car has to be done outdoors, so its not that big of a deal to me)

I guess what I'm looking for is comments and thoughts on whether you guys and gals think it would be worth $450 or whether y'all think I should give it a shot.

Thanks!

$450 isn't a bad price for someone else to install all of that considering he has to remove all of the old stuff first then install the new stuff and then put anything else, like the plugs/wires, back on again when he's finished.

Not a bad price, if i had to do it again i would probably pay...only cause i've been through that nightmare before haha. If you CAN do it yourself, go for it, it's a great experience for sure. Supposedly, it's one of the most (if not THE most) difficult modification to do to an LS1 F-body
