It's been a while since this race, but about a week ago i ran my first Mazdaspeed3. I was coming home from work and there is this one stretch of road where there is nowhere for cops to sit and camp out. Anyways, i see these xenon lights coming up on me pretty quick until the guy gets right beside me. It's a Mazda 3 from what i can tell. He slowly starts to creep past me (i didn't have intentions of racing some little mazda 3. And then he punches it for a second to kinda taunt me. That's when i heard the turbo and also noticed the back was a bit different with a black bumper and spoiler on the roof. So i looked and could just barely make out the "Mazdaspeed" badge on the back of it so i thought "eh, why not?". I punched it for a second and got right next to him. I waited for him to go and he hit it. Then i did the same and just WALKED past it until it was probably 4-5 cars back. We caught a light and he pulled up next to me. I gave him a thumbs up and he said "Is that a T/A?". I told him it was and he said "nice, that's the only one i've heard that actually sounds nice". I just told him thanks. The light turned green and he hit it, but i just drove off normally because that was cop territory and i do NOT want to get busted. (you never know what kind of car is behind you at a light). Anyways, just thought i would post up since it's been a while.

Dang, how did I miss this? Guess that's what happens when you try to check in at 3am. laugh.gif

But very nice kill Ryan. And at least you didn't get one of those drivers that has a million excuses on why they lost, plus you got a compliment out of him on top of it. Can't ask for much more then that. cool.gif

Yea nice kill man...like shootin fish in a barrell...sue is right, you're lucky you actually got a compliment and no excuses...but did you ever stop and think that maybe his car isnt set up for draging? Maybe its a professional drift car...maybe his boost was low...maybe he didnt get enough downforce with his special spoiler...either that or he simply hadnt got it home yet to put stickers or a body kit on it...the list goes on bro...haha...it wont be a real race until he gets an exhaust tip bigger than a diesel truck...

Ryan, was it an "older" or "younger" guy driving it? I've found over the years that the "younger" guys are the ones who give excuses when they lose and it's the "older" guys that end up giving compliments to us about our cars when they lose.

Haha thanks guys and yeah i figured that it just got overlooked lol. Yeah the guy seemed pretty cool, even though he did sorta dump on LS1's by saying none of them he's heard sounded good. (no clue how that makes sense, since a V8 always sounds better than a 4 banger). But to answer your question Sue, it was actually a middle aged guy (hispanic). Probably around 25-30 years old)
SassySue09
Who knows, maybe he hasn't heard alot of our cars with V8s in them. laugh.gif

That would be an "older" guy. laugh.gif By a "younger" guy I mean age 21 or younger.

Haha yeah my guess is that he has probably run into a lot of 6'ers. But i'll keep the age margins in mind for next time wink.gif Guess that means that next year i'll be an older guy biggrin.gif haha!!
