my fuel guage was reading i had a 1/4 tank but i ran out of gas...so i put some gas in it and the needle then moved up from a 1/4 but when it comes back down it stops at 1/4 of a tank... im thinkin the float is stuck when it comes down just cuz the simple fact that the needle still operates when i add fuel..is there any other way to tell wuts wrong wit it? and if the float is stuck, how can i fix it?

The way you're seeing it is really about the only way to tell/check the float. As for replacing it, since the float is in the gas tank, you'll have to drop the rear end of your car and then drop the tank to replace it since that's the only way to access the float.

that or either consider your new empty level at 1/4 of a tank. just monitor your mpg meanwhile you fix it.
