I'm going to be purchasing an 85 Trans am and the only thing wrong with it, he says it needs a carb adjustment, it's idling high and "slight stalling" as I"m told....Now I dont know about carburators....what/how do y'all think I could take on this problem.

High idle? Could be set to high or maybe a vacuum leak. If it stalls it more than likely needs a new accellerator pump in the carb. Not real hard to put in. I assume it has a Q-jet carb. If I remember right,the carbed models were the 305HO motors rated at 190 hp.

The guy I'm gonna buy it from dropped a rebuilt 350 in, with a 700r4 tranny.

Any information you can get about the carb will be helpful.
