This was my first try and took me nearly 4 hours to do but it was worth it. The tint had been incorrectly applied by a previous owner and was bubbled and turned purple. He had tried to remove some of it but shortly quit leaving a rather ugly appearance.

Scrubbing adhesive off:

This is the kettle I used for steam:

I found using an aquarium magnet to scrub the adhesive loose worked very very well and guarantees there will be no scratches since it is meant for aquarium glass. I also realized that it could serve other purposes such as cleaning those hard to reach spots on your windshield at the bottom of the dash. Just spray the glass with whatever cleaner you use, place a cloth in-between the glass and magnet and scrub away from the outside.

Here is the type of magnet I used; costs around $20, buy one meant for large aquariums (125+ gallons) so that it is strong enough to scrub:

Just how does that magnet work. Both the TA and the Vette have thse hard to reach spots.

Well it's just two magnets that attract each other so you just put the glass in between them and do your work from the outside. In the picture I was able to scrub the adhesive off comfortably while the hatch was shut by using the magnet on the outside. It kept my hands dry too. Any magnet would work.
I'm not sure how steep the windshield is on the vettes but it fits my bird pretty good. The skinner the magnet, the better so you can reach farther down.

Thanks for the info. I thought it was the reflection of the top magnet, not another one on the other side. Makes sense.

I don't usually park my car outside overnight but due to uncontrollable circumstances I was forced to. This caused the windows to go foggy when I needed to drive in the morning so I got to try the defroster lines for the first time. They still all work perfectly which makes me feel much better.
