Hello long time no chat,
I'm in a bit of a pickle. I need to remove my rear differential cover and it looks like the sway bar is blocking one of the bolts. How do I get that sway bar out of the way or removed? I know it's probably real simple and I see 4 13mm screws holding some bushing up. But is that it? Do I have to jack the car up or can I leave it on the ground?
Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

Just jack one side up and watch the bolts. It will eventually move from blocking it long enough for you to remove it. Usually. But you are correct in it taking just a few bolts to remove it. Last time I removed it, it was on the ground.

Thanks for the reply. I lowered one side where the endlink was low enough were I could remove the diff. cover. Question, on the new diff cover and gasket should I put a little rtv on the outside?

Some vehicles, like my 05 ram, only use rtv on the diff covers. Just do not add so much that the gasket will not stay put.

what i did not have to mess with the sway bar to get my diff cover off. I used a monkey wrench for all the other bolts and a crescent your that bolt, if its the one I think it is, to remove it. a little rtv but not really. Acutally now that you mentioned that, which ones do you think will hold better. the rubber or the cork gasket? personally used the cork and this one has a thin aluminum layer which is makes it reall durable for the torque requirements.

Well I used a little black rtv to seal it up with the felpro gasket I bought. So far so good! Thanks for the help all!
