Well I bought an 87 firebird with the previous owner saying the T-Tops don't leak, and they may not have before he put the car into storage for 3 months, but fact is they do now. One leak is right in the middle on the drivers side, you can see a wet spot in the headliner run down from the front corner of the drivers side and drip from the top of the windshield onto the rear-view mirror. The second spot is right above the passenger sun-visor, this one doesn't really run a drip anywhere but just soaks up. And the odd time the joint where the rubber seals on the t-top meet the windshield frame leaks but this one sometimes does and sometimes doesn't, I guess it depends on how I last installed the t-tops. When I run my fingers around the glass when it is raining I do not feel anything wet so I believe the rubber touching the glass itself is not the source of the leak but where the rubber is attached to the the car itself. The seals are spongy and feel ok so I would like to keep them if I can.
Does anyone know of a good reliable article that explains how to remove and reseal the rubber seals? Anyone else solve this problem on their 3rd gen? If anyone knows a trick to stop the leaks without actually removing the seals, that would be awesome.
I should also mention while I'm at it that the t-tops rattle when I am driving around. A buddy of mine said you can just add tape around the rod that goes into the hole to make it fit tighter but I would prefer a method that looks proper. Any ideas?

I would buy new seals if I had the $$ but some of that stuff is high.
The rattle might be fixed using heat shrink tubing around the rod if that is indeed where the rattle is. On a 2nd gen there is a little bit of adjustment to tighten the fit while they are installed. It may be on the body of the car and not the top so look around closely. I dont know if 3rd gens have that or not.
My 79 T/A I used to have would pop around the drivers side T top. Turned out there was a tack weld inside the body that had broken. I could take the top out and grab the front corner of the roof and life real hard and make it pop every time.

Before I'd go replacing all the weatherstripping/seals I'd check somethings first to be sure it is the seals and that it's not leaking from another spot first - where the center t-top bar is (that's a known spot on the 3rd gens where they leak and can look like the seals are shot when they're not).
The best way to check where the actual leaks are coming from is to take out the headliner, then have either yourself or someone else sit inside your car and then have someone outside blast the car with water (a self service car wash works great for this part). While the car is being hit with the water check everywhere inside the car for where the leaks are actually starting since water from leaks can start in one spot but show up in a totally different spot.
Oh with the rattle, the 3rd gen adjusters are on the body of the car where the t-tops latch into. It's 2 screws on each side.
