I know some of the fbody cars came with an aluminum driveshaft, but which ones? How do you tell? Is there an RPO code? I have a 95 formula. Thanks for any input!

I do not know the codes, but you would know if you look at it. It will still be silver/gray not rusted. Plus it is 3" as opposed tot he 2" or 2.5" steel stocker.

Agreed. Rust=steel. Not that bad, considering the issues a lot of LS-1 guys have with the stock aluminum shafts grenading after some mods. Steel is heavier, but stronger.

I'm thinking there isn't an RPO code for the driveshaft material. I DO know that all LS-1 F-Bodies came with Aluminum driveshafts, EXCEPT for the 2.73 cars. They were steel. (I own one...lol)

Pretty sure all LT-1's were Steel.
