i posted once or twice on the electrical/ tail lights thread already, but i just realized that i've never properly introduced myself as a new member... i'm an older guy living in ft lauderdale, been an f-body lover all my life, first car was.. oh wait, my first car was a corvair, nevermind... second car was a 67 camaro i bought in 69, then i bought a new 71 SS 350... later on i had a 79 T/A i bought with a blown motor, it had been a 301 car but the previous owner had put in a shift kit, true duals and a 3.42 rear... i found a used 400 motor for it and really had some fun with it until the bottom end started to go... finances at the time didn't allow me to rebuild so i sold it to a Pontiac engine builder/racer upstate who was looking for a car for his girlfriend... not long afterwards, the girl who sold me the T/A sold me my present 'bird... she didn't drive it much and kept it garaged most of the time so it's pretty clean... i'm trying to keep it that way and hesitate to modify it too much, although it needed shocks so i bought the Bilsteins from Sam Strano, they should be going in this week... i'm divorced and the kids are grown so i'm having fun again, heh heh, not that marriage is a BAD thing! I go to Tower Shops when i can, which is a big cruising spot nearby on Friday nights, although i just started a new job and they've put me on the 4 to midnight shift for a while, so i cruise on Saturdays instead... i also play the organ in my church and have a bunch of synths and recording gear at home and make CDs of the church hymns for the congregation to use if i'm out of town... my parents live in Flagler Beach near Daytona and i always go to visit for Thanksgiving, so i try not to miss the Turkey Rod Run there, but i won't drive the Formula that far, the Grand Am is my long distance car... i really appreciate the collective knowledge of all of you and check in often even though i don't post a lot... i got the info on the headlight fix from this site and and did that not long ago, worked like a charm... have to do the window motors too, now that the weather will be cooling down a little... there, now you know who i am, did i overdo it?

Thanks for sharing that with us. How do you like living in Florida? I hate these cold Ky winters and I want to move somewhere warm.

hi tyler,
florida is warm alright... many people i know complain about the heat, but that's what a/c is for. i was born in NY and never liked the cold. south florida is getting way too crowded, i'm thinking i may move up near the middle of the state someday if/when i retire. i'm sure you know that we have no seasons here, a few weeks of chilly weather (in the 40's) from december to february is about it, the rest of the year high 70's to low 90's is the norm. i don't know how people who have jobs outdoors can do it, thankfully i work inside. i hear people say it's expensive to live here, but it's not like california or new york, i'm in the printing trade and i've done well. i can think of prettier places to live, have some friends in tennessee and the mountains are beautiful, but it gets too cold there for me, i'd prefer to just visit. now if i could afford a winter house and a summer one, that'd be nice...

Thanks for the info. Welcome and I hope you've been enjoying yourself here.

I went to Vegas back in 1995 and I loved it. Sure it was hot but I did not sweat much. No mosquitos or bugs flying around. No grass to cut unless you want it. Cold sucks for sure and there's no way I would move any further north.

thanks sue, i am enjoying the forum... and tyler, maybe you visited at a moderate time of year, i know people from florida who have gone out west and said the heat in the summer beats florida's heat by a long shot... they say it may be dryer, but because it is, it just bakes you to death, whereas the florida heat kinda um, steams you! heh, i don't know, i've never been there, just what i've heard...
