I am having serious problems with my turn signal lights. Its a problem that is starting to tick me off a little. The old sockets were burning through light bulbs every month so I replaced the socket unit with aftermarket (though OEC)bought at autozone. i say this because it was the light socket for my car but it didnt look the same. The old one looked round, and the bulb had a cylindrical tip to plug in. These new ones have more of a rectangle tip and are made of plastic. Does anyone know what Im talking about?

Anyway, for a while they were working fine. Then one day I went to change lanes, turned on my indicator, and the light stayed on, typical for a blown light. Expletives were said and I stopped off at Autozone to get more bulbs and grease. I installed the new bulbs, and went to test, and the indicator doesnt flash. It just turns the light off...What does this mean? the bubls work fine, couldnt the be a cut in a wire or what?

Im lost on this and patience is thin haha

First thing try to stick with O.E.M when it comes to t|s sockets. A little more $$, but quality is far superior. As far as the t\s problem, try replacing the t\s flasher unit.

I like the sound of that....but what is it?

Turn signal flasher unit. Basically it is a small plastic round case ( used to be made of metal in the old days), that contains a bi metal strip that opens and closes the circuit causing the turn signals to flash. They tend to short out over time causing the condition you descibe. Usally it is located by the fuse box or under the dash. If you have a repair manuel it will show you the location.
