okay so i have a stall converter and a shift kit in my car. The stall converter shifts around 3500-4000 rpm's. Im totally new to these types of modifications and i was just wondering what would be the best way to drive this car. im not sure if should just put it in drive or put it in 1 and manually shift the car at a normal RPM. Just let me know what you think i should do. SUGGESTIONS welcome. also i think the speedometer is off 10 mph+, i think this could be because the stall converter. im not sure just let me know!

Thanks

Sorry i missed this thread. If you have a stall in your car, there is no need to shift it manually. In fact, the car should still drive close to stock with a stall if you are driving it normal. There is a difference driving it normally, but where you really notice the difference is when you go WOT. Do you happen to know what RMP the stall is?
You say your speedo is 10mph off...really the only thing that i can think of that would do that are 2 possibilities (may be more, just none that i can think of at the moment). First one would be that somebody before you (if you aren't the original owner) may have installed a different set of gears, probably some 3.73's. That will throw the speedo off by about 10 or so. The other possible reason could be a different tire/rim size from the stock wheels. All you need to do is take the car to a shop and get the speedo adjusted. Or you could keep it running off by 10mph, as an insurance policy for if you ever get a ticket for speeding wink.gif If you show the judge that your speedo was off, usually they will just drop the charge haha!
