Hey guys.

Last night I took the Formula out to the store, and I noticed my headlights looked weird...and the "Bright" indicator in my cluster was halfway illuminated, with the headlights on DIM. When I got home I checked it out, and this is what I found.

Keep in mind it's an '02 with dual headlights on either side. Pay attention, it gets a little confusing! tongue.gif I'll describe it best I can.

With the dimmer switch set on DIM:

-"Bright" Indicator in cluster not off...sort of "halfway" illuminated.
-BOTH driver side lights lit, but so dimly that you can see the filament. Im talking ORANGE....barely lit.
-Passenger side bright headlamp same as driver side....very VERY dim.
-Passenger side dim headlamp lit at normal brightness.

With the dimmer switch set on BRIGHT:

-"Bright" indicator in cluster illuminated normally.
-BOTH driver side lights OUT.
-BOTH passenger side lights lit and at normal brightness.

What the HELL? I'm lost...maybe someone here has seen this before. I sure haven't. I haven't done any work to this car at all really, aside from an exhaust. Haven't been anywhere near any electrical components, except for a head unit replacement that went off without a hitch. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Nevermind, guys.

Previous owner had wired a set of foglamps in that are no longer operating; dealer cut the harnesses and pulled the bulbs in order for it to pass inspection (I guess it's legal to do that...lol) but the wiring remains. He replaced the stockers with those that have the little blue ring around them; illegal in VA. They had the positive lead for the lamps running off of the auxiliary positive terminal at the fuseblock. Pulled the inline fuse on that wire and it fixed the problem. I guess it was shorting on something. Really outta get to work taking all that crap out of there.

Sure would like the stockers back; I've left the assemblies from the aftermarket lamps installed to fill the holes beside the running lamps. My foglamp switch in the dash is also missing.

I'm sure installing stockers would be a pretty big job, so I guess I'll leave things as-is. At least I have headlights again! cool.gif

Thanks anyway guys!
