Well I figured it might be easier this way:

Who has LT Headers and has dropped the bird no more than 2 inches? (be sure to mention rim/tire size)
Any significant problems with bumps especially with stock rims?
thanks

There are a lot of people who have LT's and have also dropped their car. It really depends on what brand of headers you have, and also if you have a catted y. I have the SLP LT's and the cats, so the cats are really not far from the ground. I can afford to drop my car about 1" with my setup, and others have dropped their cars 1.25-1.5" drops with LT's no problem. Sure you will have to watch out for speed bumps, but just be careful and you should be fine.

Weren't you gonna drop yours from the rear only?
Right there is always more to the question and glad you brought that to my attention. Well my 95 TA does not have a catted y-pipe.
Okay well I'm looking to get some Pacesetter LT's with their Y-pipe, $420 not including shipping on Summit. Looked at JEGS and it's more or less same thing. WS6store has the same prices other than a $5 difference. any other places I should look at besides ebay, craiglist, newspapers. I really don't want used stuff. I'm thinking the Y-pipe is something that can be made via a mandrel bent and a little welding. In a separate post I read how this one dude made his own rear LCAs and panhard rod just as well if not better than aftermarket. Even the strut tower brace can be made. I'm thinking of doing the same. Among the goodies that I'm looking to put on my bird this year include:"

Performance wise:
Tune-Up with synthetics
LT headers---what is the meaning behind "tuned" headers exactly?
Y-pipe>>>this will complete my exhaust.
Fan switch
Lingerfellar or K&N CAI
LT4 Knock Module

To compensate for the crash:
springs all around 1-1.5" drop (Summit has theirs for $150 or Eibach pro kit)
subframe connectors (eh...ehh weld on type that is) or sway bars
Strut Tower Brace
better LCA's
adj. panhard rod
all with poly bushings

what da ya think?

I have friend with Jet Hot LT's and ORY on his LT1 and his setup hangs pretty low even with stock springs.
I would suggest doing as much research as possibile but remembe rthere are always compromises for certain parts. LT's will make better power but usually sacrifice ground clearence where as Shorties are the opposite.
This will definetely effect yout spring purchase because maybe you won't want the bigger drop. Lets face it a 1/2" may not sound like much but when it comes ro header ground clearence you will always want more, Am I right ?

Also in regards to replacing Springs You will need to replace the shocks aswell because the stock shocks will not handle the drop springs. ##### they can barely handle the stock springs.
Quality Shocks will make the single biggest improvement to your suspension setup.
I could reccomend a shock but then all your money would be gone just buying them.
Koni's aren't cheap but remember you get what you pay for. And yes they are that good.

Yeah i was going to only drop the rear of mine about an inch, but the reason for that is because it look like the front of my car has already been dropped by the previous owner (look at the sig pic, you'll see what i mean). And 9T8W66 is right, all exhaust setups are different, so you really have to do your research. For an example, i know some people with LS1's with the SLP LT's that hang much lower than mine do, it depends on the car and the exhaust system. Every one will hang differently.

Hey Freshbake
Most F-bodies sit similar to yours esp. on stock springs.
It's weird because the panhard bar tends to lift or drop the rear depending on what direction the car was steered in. This is the reason I want to get rid of the panhard bar setup and go to a Watts link.

Okay so i did a bit of research and i found this to be quite interesting, but yeah 98's sit just like my car does. However, in 99 and up, the front actually sits higher up in front level with the back. I know a bunch of people at stock height, and my front is definitely lower than theirs is. Odd...

If I only had access to a steel mill I could make my own LCAs, strut brace, SFCs and even something like the Watts link. I found this: http://www.fays2.net/fays2_watts_link_21_.html
Very brilliant designs when you do a google search. How did you find out about this? I actually was thinking about something like this the first time when I changed out my differential oil and got under the bird to check out all of its components. Freakin awesome, way better than panhard rod setup I would have to agree with you.

Also, Freshbrake I think the setup on your car helps out through aerodynamics. The air hitting the front end and hood at high speeds creates a downward force that helps to keep the front wheels to the pavement. Dropping the rear only might actually be a disadvantage.

Ya know you are right and i've actually thought about that before. It help air from coming underneath the car more. I dont know, i just like the look of the lowered T/A's...plus now that i have rims on it i feel it needs to be dropped haha. We'll see. For now, i'm just going to keep it "as is", and i'm sure that if i ever get some nice drag radials, i'll be glad i kept it stock height in the back, that way they fit haha.
