My name is Johnnie and I've got a red 96 trans that is pretty much stock. K&N filter kit is the only performance part on the car. Exhaust is a stock replacement, the last owner wasn't into tuning tha car much. My stomping grounds are a couple small towns in Indiana, which for some reason has enough ricers in a truck infested town to make a good shrimp fried rice. This is my first manual car, my first V-8, and my first RWD. One heck of a first manual right? Haven't raced it yet...car torques too much for backroad racing and my license rides on my good behavior for another 6 months. I don't even get messed with though, just the typical menacing looks from a wide range of mustangs. But I digress, I'm still a newbie on everything. Any tips hints or advice would be appreciated. And the car is still stock so there are a lot of opinions on a lot of things to be had.

Welcome to the Source! Plus a very Happy New Year to you. Sounds like a nice ride. My first high output manual is my 95. It is really different from anything else. Just try not to launch too hard until you are ready for it and take it easy on the rev limiter. I know what you mean about the mustangs and ricers. It is like that here, Ford country. Just remember, when you are ready, they won;t be.

clutch slipped, I missed a shift, etc... ha ha! but seriously watch for the law and be safe out there. Dave

Howdy and welcome. Don't let anyone down talk your LT1. With just the cold-air and partial exhaust you'll be able to take out most Mustangs. Full exhaust no doubt. Just wait till all the WRX/STI's and Evo's come looking for you.

Welcome to TFS!
I bet mine is as nasty or worse than yours right now... even though I'm not happy about it's condition, I'm not ashamed of it either 'cause I drive it everyday. That being said, I'll post a dirty pic or 2 if you will too. Deal?

- Glad you stopped by TFS one wway or another, hope you like the site and get to enjoy the T/A as often as possible!!!!
